Adam stood outside in the rain.

He'd been following her for years now, never making contact, just looking at her, looking after her.

She was so beautiful, so pure. His fate. She was meant for him, and him for her. Simple fact. So why, you might you ask was he standing out here in the rain like a total asshole instead of in there, meeting this women? Well a few minor details stood in his way. 1. She was human at the moment and 2. He wasn't.

What was he?

A fucking werewolf that's what. The oldest one in existence techniquely, the first one ever in existence.

Great Entity, he felt like a pervert. Standing there watching her, she was practically a babe compared to him. She hadn't even gone through her transition!

But she would.

She was human now but the turn was coming and coming fast. The werewolf blood in her had been mistaken for cancer. Common mistake for humans. And it wouldn't have pissed him off so much if it weren't for the fact that the chemo had somehow stunted the change, forcing her lycanthropic genes into temporary recession. But the change was coming now, there was no stopping it this time, she was human still but not for long. All he had to do was wait.

Come on, you can do this, just a little more.

It was hard watching you're fated mate mourn her own death when in actuality she was simply preparing for a transition that would make her practically immortal.

She should have turned when she'd started puberty, damn fucking chemo.

To all that was Divine he couldn't wait any longer! Maybe he should just speed things up and take her now? Why wait?

Shit he'd gone over this again and again for the past few years. His reasons for not taking her away from her family as soon as he had found her was almost a physical wall keeping them apart  For one thing he couldn't take her home till she had begun to change without risking her dieing on arrival. And secondly he wanted her to live normally for as long as she could without the depressing reality of the dangers that  were awaiting her in their brutal realm. It sucked ass being the appointed king. He'd never even signed up for the gig. Had fought it for years. Until he'd met her, the memory of his first love brought a fresh wave of rage with it but he brushed it aside, it was irrelevant now.

He had so many enemies, thus he had to wait for her to turn. She was too week as a human, especially this close to the conversion, but that would all change afterward. She would be strong then, inside and out. Her senses would all be exceptionally improved, to such a height that she would be able to hear a pin drop a mile away, actually smell emotions, and see as well in the dark as in the light.

She would also be in some serious need of blood, another Lycanthrope's blood, and sex, specifically his. He couldn't. Fucking. Wait.

He sniffed the air, the change was here, her werewolf DNA forcing its way out. Finally it was time.

Eve woke up to a scream, and then realized it was her own.

Shit this hurts! Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit!

Her blood was on fire! Something was very wrong, her very bones felt like they were melting, shit it hurt, she opened her mouth to scream for help but this time nothing came out. Her throat was bone-dry, burning in fact. God she was thirsty. She looked up at the blood bag that was being fed to her and a thought ran through her mind but she pushed it away. It came back though. Blood. That's what she wanted, what she needed.

Jesus, what the fuck am I thinking?

Suddenly she felt a breeze on her face. She turned and what she saw burned her in an entirely different way. It was a man, a god of a man; he had scruffy long blond hair that was drenched and sticking to his face, making him look angelic. His face was perfection incarnate, his jaw strong, his eyes a piercing icy blue, his nose straight, skin strangely pale, and lips...god those lips. All in all his face was perfect and his body...beyond perfection. And jesus was he tall, his shoulders were broad and the man was muscular, but not beefy. AND he was tall, he had to be more than six and a half feet or something! She would love to just...wait what was she thinking? A strange man appeared in her room and all she could think about was how much she wanted to sex him up? God she was hormonal! Well at least it was a good distraction from the pain.

Speaking of which it had actually quieted with his presence, not completely but so much that it didn't make her want to rip her own heart out. But the thirst was still there and suddenly it didn't matter if he was a stranger, her eyes latched onto his neck, and the image of her mouth latched onto his throat as their bodies tangled ran through her mind.

There they were again, those strange thoughts.

Maybe she should have been in the psych ward instead of the cancer ward.

Whatever, she was dying anyway why not indulge a little? Converse with this gorgeous man instead of calling security, allow herself to have a little fun before she croaked.

"Who are you?"

He didn't answer. In fact he hadn't even moved since she'd found him standing there. He was just staring, and Eve had never seen that look on the opposite sex before.

"Hey mister mind telling me who you are and what you're doing in my room?"

He finally looked her in the eye.

"Uh hello, I'm Adam," he said with a smile that could stop traffic, voice deep and accented. He walked toward her carefully, almost as if he didn't want to scare her away, "I'm here to take care of you."

That made her hesitate,"You sure don't look like a doctor."

"Because I'm not."

"Then why are you here?"

He smirked and my heart did a little dance in my chest, "Haven't I already answered that?"

"Can you elaborate then?"

He chuckled, "Later."

"When? In case you don't know I'm sorta dying here. Don't exactly have much of a later."

He just gave her an indulging smile "You're in for one hell of a surprise."

She didn't have time to question him further. Out of nowhere the burn was back. She was scorching, ripping apart from the inside out.

She looked to him with eyes wide.

"Help me," she said voice faint, she saw his expression turn pained and then she was falling, falling into a huge void where there was no pain, just blissful nothingness.
