"When we got the letter in the post, my mother was ecstatic. She already decided that all our problems were solved, gone forever. The big hitch in her brilliant plan was me. I didn't want to meet royalty. I didn't want to be rich. I didn't even want to try. I hid in my room, the only place to avoid the chattering of our full house, trying to come up with an argument that would sway her. So far, I had a solid collection of my honest opinions . . . I didn't think there was a single one she would listen to.
I couldn't avoid her much longer. It was approaching dinnertime, and as the oldest child left in the house, kitchen duties fell on me. I pulled myself out of bed and walked into the snake pit."
I got a glare from mom and she ran towards me . I'm in trouble. " honey , you have the talent to find things ! You always help people from the neighborhood find their things . When you were a child, they tested you, I should have told you but its time, they left you in the woods with cameras of course and you found your way home in less than an hour ! " I was speechless, they never told me " mom, i cant risk getting lost! " she was about to laugh, I thought it was quite a good reason but she clearly had something to say. " honey , you make me laugh. there will be plenty of guards to help you find the lost princess ! If you found her , we could live in the palace instead of this small house ! Please do it for us. " the hall room lit up and my whole family came towards me " please , please , please ! Do it for us " I had no choice "Fine, I'll go." I felt a shame in myself for giving up so fast I guess after dinner I have to write my letter to the palace to let them know I'm coming.
