Black hair swirled behind the two figures as they walked down the corridor. "She works for the ministry?" A young feminine voice asks.

"Yes, they think you're grandfather and Harry are lying about the Dark Lord's return, so they sent her to keep everything in line." The older male's voice responds.

"Preposterous." The young girl with black hair said with a roll of her periwinkle blue eyes; the same colored eyes as her grandfather, Albus Dumbledore. "You would know Dad, is he back?" She said her curious eyes, looking up at her father, Severus Snape.

Severus looked down at his curious daughter; he knew he wouldn't be able to lie to her, she would see right through it. "Yes," He said solemnly. "He's back."

He saw the look of fear quickly flash across her face, before she covered it up with the emotionless look she inherited from him. "Elara," He said looking down at her. "I nor your grandfather would allow him to touch you." The young girl smiled up her father.

"Come on Dad, the students will be arriving soon." Elara Dumbledore said approaching the large doors that lead to the great hall.

Ruckus was heard at the entrance of the Castle. "I love you Elara." The potions professor said to his daughter. "I love you too." She said, then entered the great hall.

Elara made eye contact with her grandfather, who sat dead center of the teachers table. He gave her the kind smile he gave to everyone else in which she returned, then went and sat down at the Gryffindor table where she waited for her friends to enter the hall.

Dinner went by smoothly as Elara talked with her best friend, Ginevra Weasley. They spoke of they're summer and how they missed each other. Ginny suggested for christmas that they go to one another's home; which wouldn't work considering nobody knew whom Elara's father was. Then she saw him.

White-blonde hair, steely grey eyes, pale skin, and a smirk that never left his pink lips. Simply, Draco Malfoy.

His steely grey eyes made contact with her vibrant blue, but unlike with others; his eyes didn't hold disgust, loathing, and pure hate. But she didn't know that, in her eyes she was just another filthy gryffindor to him.

She looked down before at her father, who watched her closely and the boy that stared her down. She let out a sigh, pushing all her feeling aside and forcing a smile.

"We'll just have to wait and see how the beginning of the year plays out." She smiled at her best friend. Ginny smiled and nodded her head.

"It'll be a fun year, I can already feel it. Someone exciting is going to happen." Ginny smiled big before taking a bite out if her food.

If only the two knew them what they would be getting themselves into.

After dinner, Elara was one of the last to leave the dinning hall. For she was waiting for the halls to be less chance and in hopes she would be able to speak with her dad once more before the night was over with completely. She sighed knowing that her plan wasn't going to be achieved and quietly walked down the hall. Most the students were already in their dormitories.

The halls only held a few students before that all went to her walking in complete silence. When footsteps followed behind hers, she only thought that it would be her father trying to catch up to her. She stopped and looked over her shoulder, only to find no one standing there. She brushed off the feeling and walked to the entrance to Griffindor.

"Caput draconis." She softly said and watched the painting open.

Climbing in, she made her way up to the room she shared with Ginny, Hermione, and a few others. Getting her sleep wear, she changed. Her powers sometimes got out of control. She has never told anyone, not her  best friend, whom thinks is told everything. But some secrets are worth keeping to yourself. Even if the secret can get you killed. Only family, the only family she had felt knew. They would always be the ones who knew.

She walked quietly climbed into her bed and closed her eyes. Soon falling asleep, followed with her nightmares that always came.

Snape walked from the dinning hall to his room. The halls were the perfect kind of quite. He heard foot steps followed behind him, he knew it wasn't another professor. He stopped and looked over his shoulder.

"Draco, why are you not in your room?" He turned to look at his Godson.

"I needed to ask you a question professor." The young blond said, walking to catch up to his favorite professor.

"That filthy half-blood." Snape bit back his words at the tone Draco was using on his daughter. "You looked at her at dinner, why?"

"I saw you look at her, I was worried about my Godson." Snape lied, never missing a beat. His expression stayed the same as it always had.

The boy nodded his head before he walked back down the hall to go to his dormitory. The silence was back, but the relaxing feeling was gone. Snape walked back to his room, angered, and worried was was next to come with his daughter and Draco Malfoy.
