However, Bill was not actually a ghost. He couldn't drift through walls at all. Little did he know that he'd be able to drift through the walls of time and dimensions.
Footsteps rounded the corner and Bill saw one of the third year boys run out of the common room, screaming, "MURDER IN THE SLYTHERIN COMMON ROOM!!"
Bill left his body to rot, and floated off towards the Great Hall, following the boy. When he finally got there, Dumbledore was shocked.
"Oh dear," Dumbledore spoke. "It appears an unfortunate event has occurred."
"Where's Bill?" One of the Marauders shouted. Everyone looked around, noticing he was no where to be seen. The staff and the Marauders, which were followed by the rest of the school, sprinted to the Slytherin common rooms and saw Bill's body.
"Oh dear."
