Everyone is their real ages (Ian 25, Max 22, George 23) and you are 21.
George has recently moved into an apartment on the other side of your block.
The story will be written in first person meaning words like I and we will be used. You will still be referred to as y/n (your name) though. I'm doing this because it will seem more like you're being spoken to if that makes sense.
