"Nah, not yet, not yet. We we start getting closer, then we can all meet up." Kavahra said. "But I think y'all would like her, she cool as hell."

Jesus, I can see this taking a toll on everyone right now...

"Aye Jarv, you good man? You barely spoke." Odell asked, nudging my arms and snapping me out my thoughts. I jumped and turned to them both.

"Oh yeah, I'm cool. Just thinking about this game." I lied right through my teeth.

"Don't think about it much, we got this." Kavahra slapped my back. I hissed and punched him in his chest.

"Aye aye aye...You wanna make a big scene like we about to fight but then start playing rock, paper, scissors?" Kav whispered to Odell and I. We nodded and started laughing.

Getting into serious acting mode, Kav and I both stood up and got in each other faces.

"See ion even know why you talkin' all that big shit knowing you'll get yo ass beat!" Kav shouted at me, causing all our teammates to turn their attention on us.

"Get my ass beat?! Nah fuck that! I'll take yo ass down right now!" I yelled even louder. Everyone started to gather around, trying to hold and I back.

"You'll take me out?! Let's do it then!" We both placed our hands out in the center and balled our fists up, getting in the rock, paper, scissors format.

"Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!" We both yelled in unison. Feeling dumbfounded, the team kept a straight face and walked away.

Kav and I dapped each other and pulled it each in a hug. "Y'all played their asses." Odell walked over to us with his helmet.

"Enough horse playing! Back on the field!" Coach snapped. I went to grab my helmet and made my way back over in the field with the guys.

"Oh my god Vonnie she's even more adorable in person!" GiGi squealed and played with Delaine. After a thirty minute drive, we finally made it.

My aunt/mom Selena and uncle/dad Darryl walked out the kitchen and into the living room with two glasses of lemonade. They both handed one to GiGi and I.

"Thanks guys." I smiled. Giana wasn't even paying attention to the drink, she was too busy on the floor playing around with Delaine. Surprisingly, Delaine didn't even cry when she first saw Giana.

Selena and Darryl sat on the sofa, on the opposite side of me.

I exhaled and ran my fingers through my hair, "...So how has she been?" I referred to Delaine and glanced over at her. She was picking up her teething ring and putting it in her mouth, causing me to smile.

"Great. Of course she's teething so she's a little fussy but that's only because her two bottom teeth are trying to come in, so we understand. She trying to walk. She holds onto certain things to stand up. She can stand on her own two feet without any help for about ten seconds, then she sits back down." Selena updated. She pulled out her phone and handed it to me. There was a video of Delaine holding onto the couch then letting go. She tried to take her first step but ended up sitting back down.

"Awww, my baby." I cooed aloud. I looked over at Delaine to see her crawling my way. I extended my arms and scooped her up once she was in my reach. I sat her down on my right lap and planted a big kiss on her cheek.

She started giggling, causing little bubbles to form in her mouth. Drool started to spill over her bottom lip onto my hand. I wiped her mouth with the pink bib strapped around her neck. Giana handed me a napkin she had for me to wipe my hand.

"How do you like LSU so far?" Darryl picked his head up looked at me.

"It's nice. I start classes tomorrow. I'm excited." I said with as much enthusiasm as possible.

"Have you seen Odell?" Selena raised an eyebrow at me. Oh jeez.

I cleared my throat and bit my lip awkwardly, "Um...Yeah...But we really aren't on good terms..." I looked down and played with Delaine tiny soft hands.

"Aw, I'm sorry honey." Selena apologized sincerely. I could tell she felt really bad just by studying her face. I just shrugged and chuckled,

"Nah, don't feel bad. Some things just weren't meant to be." I brushed off. There was an awkward silence between everyone so I decided to change the subject. "Uh, I'm going job hunting though. I need money to help provide things for Delaine."

"Oh girl, they're hiring down at the mall in JCPenney. I can see if I can get you in when I go in for work tomorrow." GiGi said.

"Thank you so much GiGi." I went to give her a hug. After we pulled apart, she took Delaine out of my hold. I sucked my teeth and stared at her.

She giggled innocently, "I'm sorry! I know Delaine is your daughter but she's just sooo adorable." She explained before turning her attention to Delaine.

"We're going to be here for a while."
