Reflection

What Used To Be

When I was younger,

I thought that fairytales existed and I wanted to be a fighter,

I thought that rain were the tears of God so I hoped he felt better,

I thought that my biggest fear was a spider,

And being able to fly was my only desire.

Now that I'm older,

Fairytales only happen in movies and I wish I was the princess,

I wish I got kissed in the rain by a boy when he knows I'm distressed,

Now my biggest fear is people thinking I want a contest,

My only desire was to like how I was being addressed,

I wish people wouldn't judge on how others looked or dressed,

I wish people actually knew me before they tried to guess.
