Chapter 1: The Plan

It was a year after Scott became a werewolf, where everything started changing. Derek is now forming his own pack with teenagers that need it the most. He started with Isaac a poor kid who couldn't stick up for himself until he received Derek's help. Then there was Erica a girl who would get seizures every now and then, but all that was healed thanks to Derek. Next there was Boyd a loner who just wanted a friend and finally got one with the help of Derek. There is a rumor that Derek is going after one more, which is what my friends and I are trying to figure out.

I stick out like a sore thumb compared to my friends. All of them have this sort of confidence to themselves that they are able to show off to intimidate others, but I lack that completely. Stiles, who has been my best friend since as long as I could remember, tells me that I am their loving and innocent friend that they can depend on and that it isn't a bad thing. Except I don't want to be that friend, I mean I don't mind it, but for once I would like to have confidence and actually go out there and help. I can't help them fight because I am weak physically and mentally, so they have me stay back as look out most of the time and for once I would like to be the hero.

"What are you thinking about?" Stiles asks me and I shake my head telling him that its nothing. He raises his eyebrows at me and knows that I am lying, but for once in Stiles life he decides to shut up and let it go. Or so I thought.

"We will talk about it later. My place after school okay." He asks and I nod.

We both bring our attention back on what the group is saying. Scott says he has been looking at the pattern of whom Derek is going after and has three possible teens he would go after. The first picture he puts down is a picture of Michael. He doesn't do much, but he tries and stays out of everything possible. He is an outcast by choice, so I don't think Derek would go after him because Michael would just ignore Derek and stick to himself. The second person he puts down is Sheila. She is a girl with severe asthma, like Scott and I or just me now, and has trouble doing any physical activity, but since her asthma is so severe she gets out of doing any physical activity for the rest of her life and has gym as free period where she goes shopping with her friends. She would resent Derek for taking that away from her. Before Scott puts down the third picture I speak up.

"Scott although these are people it seems like Derek would go after you have to remember he wants them to stay in his pack, so you would have to pick people who would be thankful for what Derek does to them, not resentful."

"She has a point." Allison agrees with me and we all look towards Scott who nods and tells us that that is why he thinks this third person is the one Derek is going after. He puts down the picture and we all let out a small gasps. Laura Porter. She has schizophrenia and no one wants to go near here nor does she to them, but at the same time she has this dream of being on stage or in movies, which is hard for her to do with being labeled as a schizo. With Derek going after her and giving her the bite he can completely change her life and grant her the dream she always wanted.

"That's the girl. That's the one he is going to go after." Lydia says and we all nod in agreement.

We go on planning what we are going to do to protect her and once again I'm left on lookout duty. They found out that Laura has a therapy meeting after school tomorrow and I am supposed to stay after and call if anything suspicious happens. Nodding my head at them we all go our separate ways as the bell rings. Quickly grabbing my stuff and walking out I hear someone call my name. Turning around I see Stiles quickly running after me. Raising an eyebrow at him he just shakes his head and chuckles at me.

"You're coming home with me remember. You're not getting out of this talk." He tells me while jingling his keys in my face and suddenly interested in my shoes I give him a small nod and continue to walk towards the parking lot this time with Stiles at my side. It doesn't take long before we are in front of his house and I don't see the Sheriffs car.
