Kei was another shadowkin created by the same scientist of Sonado. The scientist saw both specimens were lonely and depressed, he decided to let them stay in the same cell. Over time, they came to like each other and considered each other as "brothers."
Whenever Sonado wouldn't do his tests, Kei was threatened of death by the scientist's other creations. The day when Sonado refused to kill an innocent being, Kei had followed with him to escape. This time, he wasn't afraid anymore.
When humans refused to welcome them, Kei was the one who found the hidden grotto using "visions" since his own vision was tooken by the scientist. When Aruki came, he gladly accepted his brother's feelings for the female. Ever since then, he keeps waiting for someone to accept him the same way Aruki did his brother.
