I waited outside Don Vecchio's office, unconsciously shifting from one foot to the other; nervousness, fear, excitement roiled inside and clenched at my gut. I knew that it was now too late to turn back. To do so would mean that I would look like a fool, or a time-waster, and I'd come too far, was too angry to risk that. Instead, I swallowed every ounce of negativity I had and lifted my chin purposefully; I would go through with this.

Once inside the gangster boss' office, I came straight to the point.

"I need you to kill my wife."
