At least I'm alive...

You sighed, still looking at the hospital ceiling. From what the doctor had told you, it sounded like the boy you had saved was unharmed; he only had a twisted ankle from the fall and a busted up wrist. The man who had driven the car was arrested for drunk driving. Someone had asked you if you wanted to sue for medical repairs, but you thought that perhaps the man didn't mean to harm you. He was just under the influence and had no control of what he was doing. It was going to be a bitch to pay off, but more so, you didn't want to be put under the pressure and stress of going to court.

Thank God I have insurance...

The nurse had informed you that you could potentially get out of the hospital in a few days now that you were awake. Everyone kept telling you how lucky and blessed you were to survive such a heavy hit, and venerated your bravery. You were just shocked to be able to do something so crazy. Never did you think you could save some kid's life. Thinking that, you wondered if your sister was smiling down on you. Or perhaps, she was the one that protected you during that accident.

The hospital had contacted the Clover Club the next day to excuse you for your absence. Despite you being 'healthy', you still couldn't move your body. The doctor had said you should recover quickly, but the feeling felt very similar to paralysis, except, you could feel your limbs, but couldn't move them.

Just as you were worrying over the limbs you might never use again, a voice called over to you and you looked over at the door. However, no one was there. Gazing around the room, you found an unfamiliar man standing next to your bed. His hair looked soft and touchable, and his eyes showed compassio.

"Greetings", he gently smiled as his white wings folded upon his back. You were so much in awe that you didn't know how to respond.

"H-Hello...?"

Though you didn't know his face, you felt like you had seen him somewhere before.

"My name is Jin. And you are ______, correct?"

"Yeah, I am", you responded as you continued to gaze on the man's wings, wondering if they were real or not. Then it hit you! This had to be the angel that would take you to heaven. Jin had fit the part, so it would be no surprise if he truly were an angel here to collect your soul. Thinking this, you tried to get up, but your body wouldn't listen.

"Please don't push yourself", he spoke, placing a hand on your forehead and caressing you softly. "...though to be honest, not much time remains for you."

Your eyes squinted in confusion, however, it felt as if you had heard that phrase before. You only dismissed it as it being your imagination.

"Time remains? What do you mean?"

A moment passed, and a cold voice coming from the empty space was heard. Both of them turned to the sound, as a demon smirked before them.

"Is it my turn to introduce myself yet?"

This demon was of a different kind, one that Jin didn't recognize. His ebony wings weren't of a leathery kind, but of a glossy and more delicate form. Unlike Jimin, this demon's uniform had badges, and horns that pointed like a bull; not like a ram. His long, sleek tail pointed at the end in the shape of a spade. Red hair, and alluring smooth skin, his body was lean and a little on the slim side. His confident grin had matched the fire in his red eyes.

Jin's brown orbs widened at the man before him. He had impulsively jumped back at his arrival, making the demon laugh. "You're--!"

The dark winged beast closed the distance on a surprised Jin. "Name's Taehyung. The pleasure's all mine." He licked his lips and continued. "Have you seen my subordinate? Jimin is always out and about, isn't he?"

At that, Jin sharpened his gaze. "I haven't seen you around before."

"Mmm. I don't meet common angels too much", the demon said matter-of-fact, and Jin's eyes went wide.

"Impossible... You're an Elite?" His fears had increased even more so. But as an angel, showing fear in front of a demon was shameful. Standing his ground he continued. "But, the obtaining of souls is supposed to be the duty of the lower classes!"

As Jin fell into confusion, Taehyung stared at you with extreme fancy. "That's right. In the case of normal souls, that is." And putting on a soft grin, he pulled up your chin. "A soul this good is just too much for Jimin."

Pierced by Taehyung's gem-like eyes, you had tensed up. There was an aura of danger and mystery that wrapped around him. Just as alluring as he was, your guts had told you not to get too close. He had seemed human-like in personality, but his being said all else. But after the short inspection, Taehyung's eyes opened up slightly.

"You're..." his face came right up to you and you reflexively turned your eyes away.

Perhaps it was that you were in the hands of a demon that caused you to act so defiantly, but you thrashed what little you could of your body, yelling at the demon to unhand you. You turned your face away and tried to pull from the demon's hand, but your body just wouldn't follow through. As you were about to scream, you heard Jin's voice.

"That's enough, Taehyung", he shouted as he touched your body, causing a glow to illuminate around you. Nonchalantly, the demon backed away with a pout. Ignoring the demon, Jin comforted you with the same angelic charm as before. "Are you all right?"

"Y-Yeah", you staggered out, feeling strangely calmer.

Jin smiled with relief and offered the you his outstretched hand. "You should be able to move freely now. Please, attempt to move."

Just like he said, your motions had become smooth and easy to make. Your body finally started listening again. It was like magic, what this angel had done. It made you wonder what kind of powers the demon had. You decided not to think much of it, for as long as you stuck with the angel, you should be okay.

Jin nodded at you in delight before jerking her head around to glare at Taehyung. "I'll report this to my superior." And to that, Taehyung let out a slight chuckle.

"Superior, huh? You talking about Namjoon?"

Jin was surprised he knew. "Why do you know Kim Namjoon?"

At the same time that he whispered those words, the sounds of an alarm screeched through the room. When you looked in the direction of the sound, you saw Jin touching something that looked like a clock.

"Unfortunately, it's gotten late... I must leave." With a look of frustration, he turned to Taehyung, but the demon just cackled at him.

"Going back to heaven right now? I'm sure your desk work is waiting."

Hearing that, Jin clenched his jaw. "Why, you--!"

Taehyung rolled his eyes gleefully at Jin's frustration. "What's that? You wanna fight?" With that he took out his trident, glossy and extravagantly dyed in crimson flames. "'Cause that's just fine with me."

Taehyung stepped right up to Jin, and the angel leapt backwards. Turning to you with a look of regret and worry, he spoke "Forgive me. I shall return right away", and with those words he left you alone in the hospital room with a demon.

Well wasn't this great.

Taehyung withdrew his weapon and shook his head. "Some people... ...It's not like some amateur returning is gonna do anything." A deep sigh leaked out of his mouth. As if feeling your eyes on him, he looked at you again. "So you've heard, right? You got until the end of this month to live."

"The end of this month?" It was like you were repeating something you didn't understand in class. When you repeated your words, Taehyung put on a dumbfounded expression.

"You're telling me he just up and left without even explaining?" He sat next to you on the bed and smiled. "Alright, since I'm such nice person, I'll explain it to you...I don't know how you're going to take this but... ... ... You got exactly 24 days to live."

Your eyes opened wide. The feeling of being paralyzed was coming back to you all at once. The suddenness of the demon's words had stopped your thoughts. "T-Twenty four days? But why?!"

"Well it goes like this..."
