Matt pov;
I just got home and changed and laid down in my bed when my phone started going off, it was Brett. I answered the phone
"Hey Matt.. It's Brett. I was just wondering if you heard anything from gabby.?"
"No why what's wrong?" I sat up on the bed
" I don't know she was supposed to be here an hour ago and she's not answering my calls, im worried Matt"
"Alright I'll try and call her, I'll call you back in a couple minutes"
I hung up with Brett and tried calling gabby, I got nothing I tried again and it went straight to voicemail. I started getting really worried. I got up and put jeans and sweatshirt on, I grabbed my jacket and my keys and hopped in my truck and drove over to gabbys house. On the way I texted Brett to let her know. I got to gabbys and walked to the door and knocked on the door and few seconds later the door opened, it was Derek.
Derek; its you. What do you want?
Matt: where is gabby?
Derek: why do you need to know?
Matt: ANSWER MY QUESTION
He just stared at me.
Derek: I don't know
He looked at me and laughed, he thought it was a joke. Which made me so mad, I pushed through him and walked myself into the house.
Matt: GABBY?
I yelled out
Matt: gabby??!
Derek: GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!
I ignored him and ran up the stairs
Matt: GAB?!
I walked into the bed room and saw gabby laying on the floor unconscious
Matt: GABBY? Oh my God
I ran up to her and shook her a little bit but she didn't wake up, and then Derek walked in and drunk and shit
derek: GET AWAY FROM HER.
Matt: WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?
Derek: she'll be fine! get out of my house
I looked at gabby and saw Derek walking closer to me and I stood up and pushed him back, he fell over because he was drunk and I punched him and knocked him out.
I heard gabby groan and I walked back over to gabby and got down closer to her.
Matt: gab?
I grabbed my phone out of my back pocket and called 911 and told them what happened and then called Severide and told him what happened and to get over here. Gabby starting waking back up
Gabby: Matt? Matt what happened?
She looked around confused
Gabby; what are you doing here?
Matt: Derek knocked you out, but you're okay now!
She tried sitting up
Matt: woah gab slow down, the ambulance should be here any minute
She laid her head back down on the floor and I looked down at her
Gabby: thank you Matt....
She brought her hand up to her head and rested it there, I cracked a smile and pushed the hair out of her face.
Matt: you're alright now!

Gabby pov;
I started regaining consciousness and felt someone leaning over me, I opened my eyes and saw that it was Matt, he was talking on the phone.
Matt: okay get to gabbys place as soon as possible Kelly.
Then he looked down at me
Gabby: Matt? What happened?
I looked around the room confused
Gabby; what are you doing here.
Matt: Derek happened
I looked behind me and saw him laying on the floor.
Matt: gab just slow down, the ambulance should be here any minute
She laid her head back down on the floor
Gabby: thank you..
I looked up at him, staring into his big green eyes and I brought my hand up to my head as my head was killing me. He cupped my face into his hand and pushed my hair out of my face.
Matt: you're alright now
He cracked a smile and then 2 paramedics and cops came in.
Cop: what happened?
Matt: he attacked her
Matt stood up and pointed at Derek laying on the floor. The paramedics came over and got down
Paramedic: hey what happened here?
Gabby; i um I was just knocked out..
Paramedic: you lost consciousness ?
I nodded and tried sitting up
Gabby: I'm fine.
Paramedic: I need you to stay down, since you lost consciousness we are going to have to take you to the hospital to just get check out.
I shook my head
Gabby: I'm fine... Really.
I sat up and leaned against the bed
Gabby: see.
Paramedic: just to be safe. It's a regulation you know that.
Gabby: bu-
Matt: gabby, go, just go and get checked out..
I looked up at him and he gave me the look, with those eyes. I could tell he was really worried.
Gabby: fine. Fine. But I'm walking okay?
I looked at the paramedics and they agreed, so I stood up and looked at Matt.
Matt: I'm gonna talk to the cops and then I'll meet you at the hospital.
I nodded and hugged him and went with the paramedics.

Matt pov:
I watched gabby walk out with the paramedics, the cops were standing over by Derek who was leaning against the wall with his nose bleeding. I walked over to to them.
Cop: what happened here?
Matt: I was worried about gabby, I came by to check on her and he got up all in my face, I walked in the house and yelled for gabby. I got no answer and I came upstairs and saw her knocked out unconscious on the floor with a black eye, then Derek came at me so I knocked him out. He has done this to her before but she was to scared to report it. Not anymore though, she's finally trying to get out from under him.
The cop nodded at me
Cop: we are going to have to talk to Gabriella but we will take this from here. Thank you.
He nodded at me again and got Derek in cuffs and brought him down to the police car and before I got in my truck Kelly rolled up.
Kelly: Matt what's going on?
Matt: Brett called me earlier to check on gabby because she wasn't answering I came by and saw gabby knocked out on her bedroom floor with a black eye from this guy. The paramedics took her to the hospital she's going to be fine I'm headed there now!
Kelly: alright I'll follow behind you!
I nodded and hoped in my truck and drove to the hospital.

Gabby pov:
I got into the ambulance they handed me ice for my eye and they took me to the hospital. I got to the hospital and the doctors came up and the paramedics told them what happened and then they brought me to one of the rooms. The doctors sat me up took my vitals and check my head, I held the ice to my eye took some tests
Doctor: so you got knocked out correct?
I nodded
Doctor: Does anything hurt?
Gabby: my head hurts and my eye but that's really it.
Doctor: okay I-
The doctor was saying something and then got interrupted by the door opening. It was Matt and Kelly.
Gabby: hi
I looked at them
Matt: hey how are you feeling gab?
I shrugged
Doctor: alright I'm going to run these tests and I'll be right back.
He cracked a smile and walked out.
The guys walked closer to me and I looked down.
Matt: gab?
I looked back up at them with tears in my eyes
Matt: hey hey gabby, it's going to be okay.
He walked over to me and sat down on the side of the bed.
Matt: I'm sorry about all of this, we shouldn't have let you go home alone
Kelly: yea someone should have went with you gabby.. This is on us
I shook my head
Gabby: no it's not. I shouldn't have went inside knowing he was home.. It's not on you guys. You have helped me so much already don't blame yourselves.....please.
they both nodded and then the doctor came back into the room and walked over to my side by the machines.
Doctor: alright gabby, you have a mild concussion from hitting your head, and you are dehydrated and that's probably why you passed out after so I'm going to just hook you up to this IV get some fluids in you and then I'll come check on you in an hour and you'll probably be able to go home! Okay?
I nodded at him
Doctor: alright I'll be right back.
Gabby: okay
I watched as the doctor left the room.

Matt pov:
The doctor left the room and I couldn't stop but think to myself that it was all my fault. It was our fault that we let her go home alone, someone should have been with her. It was out fault that she is in the hospital right now. I looked down at gabby as she was talking to Kelly and holding the ice to her face
Gabby; you guys don't have to stay here, I'll be okay.
I looked over at her
Matt: I'm gonna stay.
Kelly: I'll head to Molly's and let everyone know what's going on.
Matt: good idea!
Kelly: call me with any updates! See you guys later?
Gabby nodded
Kelly: alright, feel better
He leaned over and kissed the top of her head and walked out.
There was a knock at the door and the two cops walked in.
Cop: hey Gabriella Dawson
Gabby: yea.
Cop: can you just tell me what happened earlier so I know what's going on.
Gabby looked up at me and I nodded at her.
Gabby: yea I don't really remember what happened, I just.. I remember coming home and I was packing my bag to go to my friends house for a couple days and he just got mad at me and....
I looked down at gabby who was getting chocked up on her words and I rubbed her back to calm her down.
Gabby: he grabbed me and pushed me against the wall and he heard my phone go off and it was Matt... He just got mad and he just attacked me and I just remember it going black after.. I don't know
Cop: okay, it okay... Has he done this before?
I looked down at her and a few tears slipped out as she nodded
Cop: have you ever reported it before?
She shook her head
Gabby: i..i just
Cop: it's okay. We'll give you a little break alright? come back a little later. It's alright.
He cracked a smile at her
Matt: thank you.
I looked at the cop as he walked out, I sat down on the edge of the bed and pulled gabby into my arms and hugged her
Matt: I'm so sorry this happened to you.
She just held onto my shirt and cried.
She finally calmed down a little bit and wrapped her arms around me and hugged me
Gabby; thank you for this Matt. Thank you for staying.
Matt: of course. You've done so much for gab these last few months. It's the least I could do!
She cracked a smile at me
The doctor walked back in
Doctor: alright, we're going to hook you up to this IV and then in about an hour or so I'll come back and if you're looking better we'll release you!
I looked down at gabby as she nodded
Doctor: alright I just need you to pull your sleeve up to i can do this!
I watched her as she pulled her sleeve up and the doctor froze.
