Night Two

The large mansion stood silently on the edge of Magnolia, the trees rippling from the slight breeze. A blonde girl sat in a window on the second floor, wearing a simple pink dress. She leaned on the window sill, her undone hair waving with the trees in a quiet dance. Brown eyes scoured the horizon and it was then a small hand happened on her shoulder. The girl turned and was greeted by the kind smile of a small blue haired girl.

"Levy..." The girl said as her friend smiled wider.

"Lu, why do you look so blue? That's not like you." Levy said and the blonde sighed.

"Blue? I look no such way." She said, shaking off her friends hand. Levy pursed her lips, her orange dress fluttering as she flopped down on the couch next to the blonde.

"Lucy. Are you alright?" Levy asked, placing her hands over her friends. Lucy smiled and nodded.

"I am only bored out of my friend." She said, causing Levy to purse her lips.

"Well that's to be expected," came a male voice. "I mean you are just sitting there doing nothing." The ebony haired man smiled as Lucy frowned.

"At least you get to venture out into the outside world, Gray." She said, causing her friend to snort.

"Only because your father doesn't exactly fancy my eating habits." He said and Levy rolled her eyes.

"It's not your fault you were turned by Prince Natsu. That bastard had no right to do that." Lucy seethed, causing Gray to approach and placed his hand on her shoulder.

"Hey, you know I would have died." He said and she frowned.

A six year old Lucy lay curled beneath her bed, eyes wide and body shaking. There were four in total beneath that bed that fateful night. Lucy could hear her mother screaming to leave them alone but she was to scared to pick anything else out. Gray lay to her right, his hand wrapped around hers. He was 18 and he had been the one who had pushed all of the children under the bed. He held to the three kids, Levy's face tucked into his chest. The other child was Levy's twin sister, Juvia, her blue eyes wide as Gray held her to his chest.

Lucy remembered the sound of horror that came from Gray's throat as his ankle was grabbed and he and the three girls were yanked from under the bed. She would never forget the sound of anguish Juvia made as the sickening pop of her shoulder almost made the small blonde throw up. Gray had thrown himself across the room towards the thin green haired vampire who had Juvia in his arms. That was, until a large man by the name of Aria shoved his hand through Gray's stomach. Warm blood coated his chin as he stared in horror as Levy and Lucy were locked in the closet and Juvia was practically ripped to shreds, her screams heard until the attackers had silenced her entirely and left, taking her corpse with them. Lucy remembered peering out from beneath the door, seeing Gray's chest heave as he stared at the ceiling, his breath ragged. Levy was crying, sobbing her sisters name and Lucy remembered the tears that had been streaming from Gray's eyes as they fogged up. Footsteps could be heard and Lucy scrambled to Levy's side, clapping her hand over her small friends mouth to silence her crying. Suddenly, the doors had been yanked open, revealing an older white haired woman. She frowned, kneeling to look at the small girls.

"Your highness..." The woman said softly, her face sad as she reached out towards the terrified girls.

"Get them out of here, Mira." The man standing over Gray said. Lucy looked over the woman's shoulder as the man knelt next to Gray, pulling the man up slowly. His head lulled into the vampires chest as the woman named Mira quickly pulled the girls into her arms.
