Geek or Nerd??

First Day

Today's the day. My first day at Pennyworth High School. I got up and dressed into a cute chevron black and white blouse, a red cami underneath, white short shorts, and white sandals. I painted my toes white with black swirls on the big toe and a black stripe on the top of the other toes.

I grabbed my white knapsack, and headed out to my mom's car. My mom was already waiting on me, and yelled, "Did you even look at the time this morning?!?! We are leaving way too late!! We should've been in this car five minutes ago!!"
I just tuned her out at this time and rolled my eyes.

We finally arrived at school, and I jumped out with a quick bye. I took a deep breath as I had a proper look at the campus again. I mean I was here for open house and everything, but this is more real feeling.
Breathe in the fresh air, Eliza, breathe it in.

I walked to my first class, and on the way there I saw a girl who I thought was pretty nice at open house.

"Hey," I greeted. "Hi," she quietly replied. "How is it so far??" I asked. Knowing what meant, she said, "I mean school just started so I guess it's pretty okay." I laughed and nodded my head in agreement.

I went through the whole day trying to make friends with girls in my classes, so it wouldn't be awkward during the year. By the end of the day, I had a lot more friends than I even dreamed of having in middle school.

Maybe this year will be a good year for me. That would be a nice change.

Sorry my chapters have been so short. I'm only going off of an idea that I had about debating the difference between a geek and a nerd. This is my first story that's not a fanfiction, so I would appreciate feedback in the comments. Thanks for reading!!
