~Y/n's POV~ I heard the bell chime signaling that a customer walked through the doorway. I jumped off my bed, sat on the railing of the staircase and slid down the railing and jumped off the edge. "y/n do you got it?" Aidah asked me.
"Yeah I got it." I yelled to my friend as I walked to the front of the shop. I stood behind the counter as a customer walked through the door.
"Good Afternoon." I said to the woman.
"Good afternoon." She responded.
"Any specific type of cat you looking for?" I asked her with a smile.
"Oh, I'm looking for a quiet type of cat. More reserved." The woman answered. I took in her appearance. She had blonde hair that was put up in a bun. She wore a black skirt that went down to her knees and she had on a white button up shirt and a black blazer. Aidah came up to join me up front from the supply room. Aidah was a friend that I made while spending my time on Earth. We met not long after I was exiled.
~Flashback~
I fell out of the portal and into the alleyway. To anyone passing by it would have looked like a wall had spit out a girl as if she were a bad taste in it's mouth. I shook myself to relieve of the nausea. I exited the alley and looked around the street. It was warm out so I concluded that it was what mortals called Spring. I walked down the street, letting my feet take me where ever. As I was walking I bumped into a woman. She dropped papers that she was clutching to herself. She yelped.
"Oh I'm sorry." I said as I bent down to help her pick up her papers.
"Oh, i-it's ok." She said as she pushed her glasses up from falling down her nose.
"Is it?" I ask.
"What?" She asked confused.
"Is it ok? Are you ok? Am I ok? Is she ok? Is he ok? ARE YOU OK SIR?!" I say quickly. As I said the last part I went up to a random man, grabbed his shoulders and went up close to his face. He looked really startled and confused. I let go of him and watched as he quickly jogged away from me. I smiled mischievously. I turned back to the woman. "Hi, I'm...y/n." I said. I remembered the name that I was given by my parents. My name changed to Cheshire because it was my nickname then everyone started calling me that.
"H-hi y/n, I'm Aidah." She says. We shake hands.
~Flashback Over~
I quietly laughed to myself at the memory. Aidah and I instantly became friends and later we opened a cat shop because we both had a love for cats. The woman looked at my attire then at Aidah'.
"Uh, young lady, I was just telling her I was looking for a quiet type cat." The woman says. I rolled my eyes. A lot of the more formal customers did this because I dressed more chill, casual like, while Aidah dressed more mature. I walked over behind the counter and took out my phone. On my phone case it read, Keep Calm and smile like a cheshire cat. Turns out there's movies about Wonderland. Alice just had to spill the beans. No literally, one time we were having a tea party and a can of beans appeared out of nowhere and she knocked them over.
I smiled sadly at the memory. I wonder if anyone in wonderland misses me. I was brought from my sad thoughts when Aidah called me over. I stuffed my phone into my pocket and walked over to the woman and Aidah.
"y/n, she was trying to chose between these two cats." Aidah told me and motioned over to one of those round cage things that had two cats sleeping in them. (Cage is like the picture below)

I bend down by their cage. I put my focus on the gray cat of the two. The cat looked at me.
"Tell me something about yourself" I say to the cat telepathically.
The cat meowed. "My name is Smudge. I like to play around. I love couches. I like to be loud." Smudge the gray cat said.
I turned and focused on the brown and white striped she-cat. "And what about you?" I asked.
"I'm Nutmeg and I like sleeping. I hate loud noises and I love to cuddle." Nutmeg said. I smiled. I stood up straight again. Aidah and the woman look at me expectantly.
"Her." I say as I point at Nutmeg. I pick Nutmeg up out of the cage and hold her gently in my arms.
"May I hold her?" The woman asked. I nodded and gently placed Nutmeg in her arms. The woman looked down at Nutmeg as she snuggles into her arms. She smiles. "I'll take her." She said. Aidah smiles.
"I'll get the paperwork." She says and walks off.
"If you would kindly follow me." I say and lead the woman over to the counter. I stand on one side while she stands on the other. "Stay here." I say and quickly walk over to Nutmeg's special sleep section. I pick up her blanket, her favorite toy and her information sheet. I read over it and get her favorite treats and more stuff like that. I walk back over to the woman.
"Here are her things." I say as I place them in a bag. I take Nutmeg from her and place her in a basket. Aidah comes back with the paperwork. I hand it to the woman and guide her through it. When she finished I take her over to chose a collar. The woman looked around and her eyes lit up. She pointed at a pink collar. The collar had jewels on them and tiara designs on them. I look at her like she is crazy and that's saying something since it's coming from me, the Cheshire cat.
"Hmm No." I stand on my tip toes, reach up and grab a gray collar that had blue stripes on it. I hand it to the woman. "That's better." I say and guide her over to the name tag machine. I type in 'Nutmeg' and put it into the system. When it was finished i clipped it onto the collar handed it to the woman, then gave her the basket with Nutmeg in it then handed her the rest of Nutmeg's stuff.
"Have a nice day." Aidah and I say as she exits our shop. I sigh.
"Another day, another cat with an owner." I say.
"I still can't get over the fact that you can talk to cats." Aidah says with an exasperated sigh. I chuckle.
"Yeah well, I don't know what to tell ya." I say.
~Time Skip~
It was getting late so we were closing up the shop. Aidah and I were already in our pajamas. Aidah was setting the cats in their own separate sleeping sections. I was cleaning up the cages and putting away the toys.

When I finished I spoke up.
"Aidah, I'm finished can you lock the doors?" I asked.
"Yeah sure, It's my turn anyway." She answers.
"Ok, goodnight." I say as I start walking up the first few steps up to Aidah, and my apartment. I then hear the bell chime. I turn around. There stood a woman.
"Excuse me miss, we are closed now. Can you please come back in the morning." Aidah says politely.
"I'm not here to get a pet cat. I'm here for Cheshire."
