Part 4: Alone with no way out

I quickly tried to run out of their circle, but one of them still had me trapped in his grip. It occured to me suddenly that these guys were actually angels before Marcus and the examination, and I was trying to process the possibility of it. They didn't seem like Kyle or the gods at all, with their eyes as black as night and their stares as cruel as Satan.

I probably should not be thinking about that right now with the certain location I was in...

"It's a shame how you think you can leave," Marcus smiled, "you wouldn't have any idea where the exit was even if you escaped!"

A group of laugher came from the followers, and I felt myself becoming uneasy as they found something like a prisoner trying to escape humorous.

"So come on Jess," Marcus said with a hand outstretched towards me, "let's get you set up in your new home."

I felt myself being pushed forward by the follower holding me, and I tried to dig my heels into the ground like bbefore when Marcus and Melissa were dragging me into the mysterious light. I was failing just as equally as much.

"Please!" I begged as I continued to try and release myself, "let me go!"

I could understand how Kyle struggled with these guys the last time we had met...they were so strong! I whined and grunted as I became exasperated and tired of kicking, when a little glimmer of hope appeared.

Just as I was about to give up, I felt the follower loosen his grip on me. He was barely holding onto me at all, before I watched him plummet to the ground beside me. I jumped away in surprise, looking down at him curiously to see if he was moving. He was definitely unconscious. But how...

The rest of the group had stopped walking too, and they slowly turned around and glared at something behind me. I turned around too, feeling my heart start to ache as I saw what it was that they found so threatening.

"I can't believe it," I whispered to myself.

Kyle.

His hand was raised in the direction of the follower who had just fallen, and his hand was glowing a colour of blue until it faded away completely. His enormous glittering wings were spread out on either side of his shoulders, and I almost went in a trance as I stared at them.

What was he doing here? Why was he here? It couldn't be to save me...he hates me now...

I looked into his eyes as he slowly looked back, his eyes never looking as solemn as they were now. I felt my heart speed up in his presence, and I wanted to wrap my arms around him desperately in an embrace. Maybe I did have a little hope left I thought, and maybe I could get out of here alive. I opened my mouth to attempt to say something, when Marcus spoke instead.

"Kyle!" Marcus greeted, pushing his way through the crowd of followers behind us so that he was standing beside me. "How's it going?"

"I'm really not in the mood Marcus," Kyle sighed as he removed his wings from view, "just give me Jessica and we'll be on our way."

My heart skipped a beat as he said my name, and the reason why he had came here after all. He wanted to save me! Despite that I broke his heart?

I felt Marcus's hand slither round my wrist tightly. "She's taken."

Kyle rolled his eyes. "Yes, taken from earth. Kidnapped."

I looked at the two of them worriedly as Kyle confirmed my earlier thoughts. I wasn't on earth anymore! I was in a paranormal universe! Oh no...

"Why would you want her?" Marcus snapped, "you don't own her or her decisions."

"Ever since I met her she became my responsibility," Kyle snapped, "the gods agreed."
