I am so sorry that this isn't a one shot, but I am honestly so upset right now, as are many Marvel fans. If you haven't seen anything on social media or the Internet about the new Cap comic that was released today, I'll give you a summary.

(No, I haven't read the comic, but I'm going by everything I've seen in articles today.)

Basically, writers have revealed that Steve is with Hydra and he has been all along. They claim it is a "plot twist" we never saw coming. Well, yeah, obviously NO ONE saw this coming—the WWII hero and righteous man who only ever wanted to get rid of bullies secretly being a member of Hydra all along. In the comic, Steve was recruited by Hydra as a child, thus making his entire life a lie.

I'll put some screenshots from the articles I've read below. Honestly, what is Marvel doing?? I understand that it could be a fake plot twist, like maybe someone else is disguised as Cap (I don't really know.) I just know that as someone dedicated to Marvel, and someone whose favorite characters are Steve (and Bucky), this really disturbs me.

If Steve has been Hydra all along (apparently it's been hinted at in earlier comics) then this is disrespect to his original creators, Jack Kirby and Joe Simon, who were Jewish. Everyone knows about Hydra and the Nazi ties; why make the true hero of Marvel secretly be a villain the entire time? I doubt they'd EVER bring this comic into any movie, at least not while the Russo brothers have anything to do with it. I know that they care too much about Cap and his fans to do this. ALSO, if this is real, then Bucky really has no one left. His friendship—the one that literally kept him going, kept him fighting—was never real. I cannot handle this.
