"And you know that I love you too?" I asked.
"Everyday."
"Exactly."
A smile slowly stretched onto his face, and I smiled back at him. I still couldn't quite get over the fact that if it wasn't for Zach (friend, angel, and lifesaver), Kyle wouldn't be here right now. I owed him so much that I would probably never be able to return it to him.
"I like staying here at night," Kyle said as a smile played on his lips, "with all these nightmares lately...I'm glad I do. Jess, every time you wake up you look like you've seen a ghost."
"They are pretty...vivid," I sighed. "And...realistic."
"So that's why I must keep staying here, and get it into that thick skull of yours that I would never leave you." He smirked as he poked the side of my head near my temple with his index finger.
I chuckled as he sighed and reluctantly said, "Come on, you better get some sleep."
He gently laid me back down on the mattress and pulled the covers around me.
"But I don't want to sleep," I protested, yawning just as the words left from my mouth telling him otherwise.
He chuckled. "Sure you don't."
I rolled my eyes as I shifted onto my side and closed my eyelids. I felt him lean closer to me and his warm breath on my cheek.
"'Night Jessica," he said quietly, "have sweet dreams...of me."
I elbowed him in chest and he chuckled. "Just saying. 'Night."
"'Night Kyle." I replied as I felt him place a kiss on my cheek again, a softer, more gentle one than usual. I smiled to myself as I relished the kiss. He did that when he knew I was upset, and when he felt that I needed comforting.
He stayed with me until I fell asleep, but luckily for him he only had to wait five minutes. Although secretly, I knew he stayed longer rather than leaving straight after I drifted in dreamland. He usually waits an hour and or so, but that's why I love him.

"Jessica..."
"Oh Jessica..."
I kept my eyes shut as I heard the mysterious voice and refused to obey its command. I was in the middle of a great dream, and I didn't want to wake up.
I was on a beach...I could feel the sand beneath my feet and the thousands of tiny grains slipping in-between my toes. The warmth of the sun was on my face, radiating its vitamin D all over my skin. A blue sea that reminded me of Kyle's eyes was quite a far distance away from where I was standing, but I could still see all the ripples and sparkles in the waves clearly.
"Open your eyes Jessica," the voice interrupted again. I don't want to open my eyes I replied in my mind stubbornly, I want to go back to sleep.
"Jessica, if you don't open your eyes right now, I'll go and kill Kyle right now without any discussion."
I suddenly flung my eyes open to the darkness of my room and looked around frantically, searching for the voice that was holding the threat I hoped was my imagination.
"Hm, that a girl," the voice continued. It sounded female, unless it was a very feminine man.
I still saw nothing in the room, my eyes failing at looking through the dark for any lines or shapes that might help me. It was too dark in here, and my eyes hadn't adjusted to the light quick enough yet.
