Chapter 19 [Teachers Ball And Dancing In The Great Hall]

Dino woke her slumber, Beth and Dino had gone shopping for a elegant dress for the teachers ball, she had picked a black dress with straps, for hours she had tried to do her makeup, Severus wasn't allowed in the room, he had to get changed elsewhere, Beth was looking after Jasper for the night, Dino smiled as she looked at herself in the body length mirror, the dress made her look thinner.

Severus looked at himself in the mirror
"Well, this is going to be different" he let out a loud of breath, he thought about all the trouble that had been happening the last two weeks, the Potters were back and it took so much for them to prove that they were truly them, he looked at himself once more thinking what in Merlins name am i doing in this outfit? But he would be dancing with his wife, amongst fellow teachers.

Severus knocked lightly on the door to their bedroom and smiled as he saw his wife walk out wearing the dress he told her about
"What did i tell you about leaving that mouth open?" She placed her hand on her hip, she raised an eyebrow and looked at him, he didn't speak for a few minutes, she reached up and shut his mouth for him
"I didn't know you liked eating flies for dinner" she smirked, he straightened himself out then held out his arm ready for her to take, she took his arm gracefully and they started their long, torturous walk to the great hall, all students had been sent to their dorms, it was past most of their curfews anyway.

They finally reached the stairs and looked down, she looked up to him and smiled, he was so scared
"You alright?" She asked him, he looked over to here wide-eyed, he gulped but nodded
"Ill be fine" he tried to play it off like it was nothing, but she saw through him every single time
"What band are they playing?" She asked trying to take his mind off it while they slowly walked down the stairs
"Some man called Charlie Puth" he told her, he'd never heard of him before, she smiled knowing who he was and then they realised she had pulled him all the way in front of the door to the great hall, they looked at each other then Severus pushed the door open slightly, every single pair of eyes was aimed at them, Lily and James had stopped what they were doing and just stared at them, the music started because they were the last two people to enter the hall

As soon as the song started Severus took her hand and pulled her waist close to him, he smiled and then started to move his body with hers, slowly people started joining in with them, Severus placed both his hands on her waist and spun her around in the air, he looked down at her
"I love you, i hope you know that" he whispered, she smiled and leaned her head on his chest listening to her heartbeat
"You wouldn't have saved me if you didn't" she smiled, in the distance James and Lily watched them dance, Lily was jealous of Severus and his wife, they get to watch their son grow up.

"So, Mr sexy pants, where are your parents, i just realised that i never saw them" she asked him as she sat down on the bed next to him, they had danced the night away, they were exhausted
"My father was an awful man, i do not want my wife or son getting in the way of that" he closed his eyes and clenched his fists, he never really liked to think about him but she deserved to know, he sighed and sat on the edge of the bed
"He used to beat me as a child, my mother was a witch and he was a muggle, never understood why she let him hurt her all the time, once i turned 17 i left and I've never seen them since, every year they keep sending me invitations to dinners they want to host" she took his hand and kneeled before him, he had always been the strong one in this relationship, being her strength, her everything, now it was her turn, she looked him in the eyes
"We will go see them, just once, and if they've changed then i say go for it, but if they haven't, you never have to see them again" she told him, he thought it over for a while, he didn't know if he wanted her in his fathers firing line, but then again, she was a tough cookie and never took shit from anyone, he put a smile on his face
"Fine, ill let you know when i get the next invitation" he was truly thankful he had her at this painful time in his life, he was going to try to reconnect with his family, he just hoped it goes well.

So another plot twist, Severus is going to see his daddy and mummy... That actually wont be until the next book though, sorry guys.
