ONE SHOT | KLARA JO | @FOUNDYOUATLAST

“I love you,” he said over the phone, “and I miss you loads, Klar.”

“I miss you even more, Lou. I wish you were here with me. It’s cold and I’ve got no one to force to watch Harry Potter for a zillionth time with me,” Klara Jo told her long-time boyfriend, Louis—or more famously known as Louis Tomlinson, member of the globally known and loved boyband, One Direction.

As always, Louis was a way on tour, and as always, Klara Jo was left alone. She didn’t care whether it sounded clingy or pathetic, she hated how Louis was always gone, but she knew she had to deal with it.

It was just that she was completely and utterly in love with someone. It was the kind of love that made your heart jump when you saw the person you loved, but also made your heart break when more specifically, you saw the person love leave.

As of today, Louis had been gone for over five horrible months. There was no loud laughter in Klara’s flat, or that beautiful Doncaster accent that she’d grown so fond of. When Louis left, her flat felt just like a flat; it wasn’t home.

The thing that made Louis’ disappearance from home so cruel right now was that he was due to come home today, but because of the snow storm happening he was unable to do so. It hurt Klara Jo so much when he told her that because she had been anticipating him coming home today for so long. It was like trying out for a play and being so sure you were going to get the role you wanted and ending up getting no role.

“I’m so sorry, love. I want to be with you so badly right now,” Louis told her, making her feel better and worse at the same time. His loving words made her feel better, but the fact that he wanted to be with her just as much as she did but couldn’t made her feel worse.

“Lou, I wish you could be here.” Klara Jo felt tears brim her eyes and she didn’t know why she felt the urge to cry, only that it was cold outside and strangely cold inside and she not only wanted to feel the warmth of Louis’ arms but the warmth of his wonderful smile as well.

“Klara . . . ” Louis’ breathing sounded weird, almost like he was running. “They say love can cause miracles.”

Klara Jo’s eyebrows furrowed at the random statement. “Louis, I love you, but are you on something?”

“I’m on the power of love!” he yelled, laughing, and making Klara Jo sure that he was doing some sort of drug.

“Lou, what are you—” A knock interrupted Klara Jo’s words. ‘Who’d be at my door in this storm?’ she thought. ‘It couldn’t be . . . ’

Klara Jo spoke into the phone as she walked towards the door, saying, “Lou, I don’t know what you’re up to, but I think I’m going to like it.” When she got to her front door, she opened it to reveal the love of her life covered in snow.

“Louis!” Klara Jo screamed happily, waiting until he came inside to hug him. The snow on Louis chilled her but she didn’t care.

“Love conquers all!” Louis said, and then added, looking at the snow outside, “Or at least it conquers that fucking snow. Goddamn, I think God’s got a lot of dandruff or something.”

Klara Jo laughed, Louis’ quirky sense of humor immediately bringing a smile to her face. “I missed you so much,” she told him for the [insert a very long number you’re too lazy to read] time.

“I missed you, too,” Louis told her. Then, he grabbed her face and said, “But I miss doing this more,” and connected his lips with hers.

The kiss made up for all the time they had lost while Louis was on tour, all the nights Klara Jo spent a lone, all the new movies she knew Louis would level, and just all the timewithout Louis in general.

It was the way Louis removed one hand from Klara Jo’s face to grab her by her waist and pull her closer, the way his lips moved perfectly with hers, the way the cold air drifting inside from the door that wasn’t bothered to be closed didn’t matter because the warmth of Louis’ hold overrode it; it was the way Louis could make her feel.

Louis disconnected his lips to say something but then connected his lips again, the familiar taste of them too lovely to not be tasted even for a second.

Klara Jo laughed into the kiss, trying to pull away from the kiss but being pulled straight back into it. She smiled, pulling herself away from Louis firmly, earning a pout as she dodged his kisses.

“Lou, I want to say something,” Klara Jo laughed, and Louis just rolled his eyes.

“Fine,” he laughed, giving in and stopping his attempts to kiss her. He moved the hand he had on the side of her face to the back of her head, twirling a strand of her wavy black hair beneath her fingers. He loved to do that.

“I love you,” she told him, “and I just wanted to tell you that now because I haven’t been able to tell you that in person for months.”

The smile that had been on Louis’ face faded and he grabbed Klara Jo even tighter and said, “No matter what time we spend apart, I will always love you, and I know you will always love me, too.”

With that, the smitten couple returned their lips to each others, basking in the happiness that they, and only they, could give each other.
