Rare in Beauty (Rewriting)

Chapter 2- Lord Sesshomaru

 Lord Sesshomaru's P.O.V.

It has been a few hours since I had left Rin and Jaken alone to set up a place to stay for the night. I needed to clear my head. That scent from earlier this morning was strange and different. I have never smelt something like, whatever that was. Its aura was powerful but yet I couldn't pin point it and to be honest, I was slightly worried for Rin. What if it was dangerous and it attacked her?

I started to make my way back and the same scent from this morning hit my nose. l tensed and ran back to Rin. I stopped just on the outside of the small camp Rin had made. I didn't want her or Jaken to see me worried. I calmly walked through the bushes and Rin came happily to me but my focus was on a different creature. A small black mass lay in a ball on the opposite side of the fire. Rin seemed to have noticed that my eyes were on the creature.

"She came to us for help because her wing was broken. I hope you don't mind her staying for a little while." Rin looked me in the eyes with a big smile showing no fear. 'Why should she be?'

"Mi Lord, just so you are aware she is a dragon demon," Jaken muttered while bowing. My eyes returned to the creature who had woken up and was looking at me with wide red eyes. I could see fear, absolute terror.

'How could a creature so small have such a strong aura?' I asked my self but quickly remembered that Jaken had told me that she was a dragon demon. Rin had walked back over to the dragon and the creatures eyes left my gaze and looked at Rin. Its eyes softened and gave a soft hrring sound.

"You know if you staying with us for a while I might as well name you. I don't want to keep calling you dragon." Rin said while gently stroking the creatures good side.

"Hmm, what is a good name for a dragon." Her face was full of concentration as if she was running names through her head.

"Oh, I know. How about Ozaki. It means 'rare'. Since you're a dragon and dragons are rare." Rin squealed the small dragon gave a happy trill.

Ozaki's P.O.V.

'Ozaki, I like it.' I gave a happy trill telling Rin that I liked the name. A huge grin grew on her face. I looked back at the dog demon hoping he wouldn't mind me staying but all I saw was a face with no emotion. I looked down and tried to sleep but I couldn't Lord Sesshomaru was staring at me and it made me feel uncomfortable. I noticed that I was shaking. I tried to stop but Rin noticed as well.

"Ozaki you're shaking. Are you okay?' She sounded worried. I was scared I'll admit and I knew exactly why. I looked up at Lord Sesshomaru. I mentally sighed in relief, he got the message. He started to walk over to me I felt myself shrink in his presence.

My body has grown to respect the dog demon in front of me and I will fear him until he shows he won't hurt me. An easy way to say it is that I see him as my master. I watched him walk over to me. Lord Sesshomaru crouched in front of me and reached out his hand, face down. As he did so Jaken whispered something to Rin.

"Is Lord Sesshomaru trying to tame that dragon?" his eyes were wide in amazement.

"Jaken, if you knew anything about dragons you would know that dragons can't be tamed you can only gain their respect." Lord Sesshomaru calmly stated without moving his eyes from me. At first, I shrunk away from his hand. Then I reached my head up and rested it on his and let the 'magic' do its job.

Lord Sesshomaru's P.O.V.

I took my hand away from the head of the dragon feeling pain shoot through it. I looked at my hand and a black substance seemed to be flowing through my veins. I felt the pain spread up my arm and to the rest of my body. I heard Rin and Jaken calling my name but it was muffled. I felt my eyes go red and I had to fight to not show my pain to Rin and Jaken.

The pain increased and my head throbbed. In less than a minute, the pain started to disappear but my shoulder felt like it was on fire. I looked at the dragon who had her head down like she knew this would happen to me. Before I could do anything to her my eyes were forced shut and when I opened them I felt like I was in a different world. It was dark like night but without the stars and I saw a symbol flash in front of me.

Soon after I saw images of dragons and human, demons, men, women, even children. What did it all mean, every time I saw an image that symbol flashed afterward. Everything was starting to go completely black again but this time, it felt like I was blacking out. I came back to reality and saw the worried face Rin in front of me.

"Lord Sesshomaru are you alright? You looked like you were in a lot of pain." Rin said to me. I didn't respond and looked at the demon behind her and felt anger surge through me. I went around Rin and lunged for the demon grabbing her neck and pinning her against a tree. The small demon struggled to get air and helplessly clawed at my hand with no effect.

"What did you do to me you piece of trash?' I growled at the dragon. I would never have imagined that I would have gotten an answer. 'It's a bond, my Lord.' I froze. That didn't sound like Rin or Jaken's voice. Then whose was it, I looked back at the struggling demon in front of me and squeezed harder. 'Let me explain to you. Please.' the dragon looked at me pleadingly. I finally let go and walked, once again, away from the fire waiting for an explanation.
