"What if, Sean is just a figment of Ryan's imagination?"

//

Ryan was just some lonesome, introverted male.

He's got an imaginary friend with him, whom he thought real.

His parents' brought him to the psychiatrist, and said that aside from his ADD, he's delusional and schizophrenic.

The only way to treat his condition is through therapy, but in his therapy sessions, Ryan always escapes from the clinic and is often found at the park or along the shores of Hilo, Hawaii.

He had this condition for six years, and still, his psychiatrist can't find a way to get him into therapy because he always escapes.

"Sean,"

I called. He looked at me and said "Yeah?"

"Why do others think I'm crazy? I mean, you're real, right? You're not some crazy imagination of mine... And not a product of my delusion, right? And my schizophrenia?"

I asked, staring at the sun sinking down the horizon. Sean held my hand, squeezing it.

"Of course not, Ryan. Certainly not."

I revoked my gaze from the sunset and looked at his eyes and smiled.

"I love you in the most heterosexual way, Sean."

He laughed heartily, and that made me smile.

"I love you too, Ryan. In the most heterosexual way."

When we were about to hug, Kyle dragged me away from him.

"Kyle, let me go!"

I screamed, struggling to get out of his grip.

"No, I won't Ryan. You NEED to be treated. Sean's not real-"

"HE IS! You won't just open your minds! Maybe you're the ones WHO NEEDS medical attention! Sean is real, and you guys won't stop blaring that he's not!"

I kept on struggling.

"Let Ryan go!"

Sean yelled, going after us.

But every scream Sean let out, Kyle can't hear.

Is that because he wasn't really real?

Why am I always doubting my best friend?

"R-ryan!"

I heard mom from a distance.

"Ryan, what are you doing?!"

"Mom, Kyle's dragging me!"

"But Kyle wasn't here, Ryan!"

A... a... delusion? Again?

I suddenly fell on the sand as Sean and Mom came to catch up.

"S-sean-"

"How many times do we have to tell you, Ryan? He is not real! He's swallowing your sanity!"

Sean held my hand and stared blankly to me. His chocolate brown eyes started to fill up with despair.

"Don't."

I muttered.

"You have to go under therapy, Ryan."

Sean hugged me tight, and my vision started to get blurry.
