Another first: sharing a closet

Well not so technically. We didn't agreed so that we'll be doing so. But now since almost every night he slept over, his clothes naturally found their way into my closet, snuggling and mingling with my own clothes. The scent of him that his clothes carried merged with that of mine.

There were also other stuff. His books, files from work, stacking up in disguise on my shelf. His toothbrush side by side by mine. His own extra pillow since I only had one. The room was more cramped, crowded for sure, but it seemed so lively now. It felt like a house with people and for people.

I didn't go outside today at all. The sirens were ringing loudly outside, a rush of moments, some crying and screaming. This was the second time this month. I've lost count of how many times I've heard those sirens. And this wouldn't be the last either.

Adam came an hour after the scene. He hurried from the door, coming in without knocking and sat by me, with a concerned expression. I rolled up in a ball, not realising that one hour had past or that Adam had already come. Not noticing the his hand on my shoulder, with my arms wrapped around my legs.

I must have froze right then, numbed by a great force. I didn't that way since I first came to live here. I grew used to the harshness of this area. Skin broke over skin. But this time, the skin was ripped open with fresh blood oozing out.

I must have been shaking somewhat. Adam hugged be tightly, pulling a blanket over the both of us, and made soup. He embraced me when we went to bed, singing a soft lullaby, the same one that he sang before and sang often. I closed my eyes.

I knew why I was suddenly feeling so. Because of Adam, the past month had been full of emotions, a range and depth of them that I hadn't been experiencing for a while. The barrier that I have built to protect myself had been eroded without me noticing. Adam being the catalyst. And before I drifted off to sleep, I had made my final decision.

apologies for taking so freaking long - but my exams are done, and I'm now able to be way more active than before. Which means this story would continue on! So I hope you'll it thus far and will do so further on !
