It was his mesmerising, wild eyes that struck me, warning me of the danger lurking underneath his beautiful exterior.
And those mesmerising, wild eyes were focused solely on me.
"Haven't you heard the rumours about me?"
My eyebrows scrunched togeth...

It was official.
I hated Cameron-who at this point on would be known as my former best friend.
So what if I accidentally, totally on purpose blurted out to his long time crush Samantha, that he fancied her.
How was I supposed to know she would reject him on the spot mercilessly?
This of course promised some kind of payback from him. And I wasn't left disappointed.
The devious payback came two weeks later on a cold Wednesday night.
I suppose I should have seen it coming when we started to play the silly game for old times sake.
If I had known what he would ask of me when Charlotte- another former best friend of mine- announced we were playing truth and dare at her house when her parents were out, on a night when most teenagers our age would be out clubbing, I should have turned and high tailed out of there, more so since I knew Cameron still held a grudge against me.
But it was too late now.
I had to complete a dare that was as dangerous as it was daunting- not that I would ever admit that to Cameron. I would prove that unlike him, I could face up to any challenge. I knew if I admitted defeat now, he would never let it go.
I gritted my teeth as I imagined the infuriating smirk he would definitely be wearing if I stopped now and turned back. The weeks of taunts I would have to endure were just not worth it.
The cold winter wind tore through my coat and settled in my bones as my feet moved over uneven cobblestones and dead leaves that crunched under my boots, the only noises on this otherwise quiet pathway. Trying to keep my brown hair out of my eyes was a feat of its own.
"Just so you know Cameron, if I die here, you'll be the first one I'm coming after. Charlotte you'll be next." I said, not forgetting her, as I held my phone with video recording on out in front of me, capturing all my surroundings; the dead trees, bare of any leaves on either side of me, the looming shadows my phone light cast and most importantly the signs warning brave but mostly the stupid souls that dared venture this far, to go back.
Of course it was Cameron's idea to record the dare as proof, because he thought I wouldn't do it.
The cheeky sod even bet Charlotte twenty pounds that I wouldn't complete it. Knowing he would be twenty pounds less richer tonight made a small smile play on my lips, but when the large, rusted black gates came into view, my smile was quick to disappear.
Coming closer the gates that creaked ominously as the wind pushed against them, fear began to form a knot in my stomach as I saw the sight that lay behind it.
