Chapter 28: Confessions - Part 2

"I kinda deserved it. I did something really fucked up." I told him as I rested my head against the window.

"Damn.. Well at least we get to see each other before I leave for the 305. Road trip." Rome said as he turned on the radio, trying to cheer me up. "You wanna pick the station?"

"No, I'm good." I said, giving him a light smile.

"Fine, I'll do it myself." Rome said is he flipped through the station before finally settling on one. "I was running through the 6 with my woes! You know how that should go." He rapped as he turned the radio up. This was about to be a long ride home. Rome was way too energetic for me. I watched as he rapped and jumped along to the song. He was speeding too. I swear we could get stopped by the police at any moment. Sitting up in my seat, I turned the radio off.

"Oh hell nah." He said while looking at me. "Don't you know not to touch a black man's radio."

"You should pay attention to the road. I'm not trying to die tonight." I told him while he laughed and turned his attention back to the road.

"Don't touch my radio again." He said while driving.

"And if I do?" I asked him as I sat back in my original position.

"I'll pull over and drop you off on the side of the road and leave your ass like your friend did." Rome said while I laughed. "I won't look back either. Don't play with me."

"Yeah... If you say so." I chuckled before he turned the radio back on and started flipping through stations again.

"Beautiful, I just want you to know... You're my favorite girl." Rome sung as he grabbed for my hand to hold. "See I just want you to know that you are really special... Oh my, oh my, oh my, oh my!" He sung as he grabbed a hold of my chin and pulled me in for a kiss.

"Alright you have a beautiful voice but that's enough singing." I told him before turning off the radio again. Rome abruptly let go of my hand and pulled off to the side of the road.

"Get out." He told me as he unlocked the doors.

"Oh you were serious?" I laughed as I got out the car.

"Hell yeah. Now close the door." Rome said as I closed the door and watched him put down the window.

"Alright, can I get back in now? It's kinda chilly out here." I said while rubbing my arms.

"Nope." He replied.

"Why not??" I pouted. "We both know you're not gonna leave me here." I laughed.

"Oh I won't?" Rome said before he started to drive.

"Wait no! I was just playing." I told him as I ran to the car before he stopped.

"If I let you in, are you gonna behave?" He asked me.

"Yes!" I said as he unlocked the doors. Just as I was about to open the door and get in, he locked the doors again. "Rome stop playing!"

"What do you mean? The door is unlocked." He told me while he was consistently locking and unlocking the door. He laughed every time I would try to open the door when it was locked. Finally he stopped and let me in.
