Chapter 28: Confessions - Part 2

Start from the beginning

And then there was Will...

I didn't know what he was thinking. I just needed an opportunity to explain my logic to the both of them. I didn't want for them to hate me. I needed closure. I needed a chance to make things right between everyone. But first, I needed to find a way home. Not many people were home on a Saturday night. Everyone I knew was probably out partying.

I called Crystal. No answer.

I called Toni. No answer.

I called Tron. No answer.

The last person I could think of as I scrolled through my contacts was Rome. He would probably be suspicious about why I was all the way in Tampa. But I knew he would stop what he was doing and come for me.

Pulling out my phone, I called Rome and waited for him to answer. I swear he always took forever to answer.

"Hello?" Rome said as he answered the phone.

"Hey.. You busy?" I asked him.

"Just packing for playoffs next week. What's up?" He asked me.

"Can you come get me..?" I asked.

"Sure, where you at?" Rome replied.

"Tampa..." I said nervously as there was a short pause over the phone.

"Uhhhhh... You serious?" Rome questioned.

"Yeah." I said hesitantly. He probably wasn't going to do it. I don't blame him.

"That's a long drive.." He said.

"I know, I'm sorry. It's just that I'm stranded here and you were my last choice. I'll give you gas money." I told him while he stayed quiet. "You don't have to."

"No, no. I'm coming. I'm getting in the car right now. And don't worry about the gas money baby girl." He said while I sighed in relief. I was starting to think that he wasn't going to come.

"Thank you so much." I said excitedly.

"I'll try to drive as fast as I can without getting a ticket." He joked

"Take your time." I told him before hanging up the phone.

Four Hours Later...

The wedding reception was still going on, but I was outside waiting for Rome. I feel like I've been waiting for years. I knew it was a long drive from Tallahassee to Tampa. Hopefully he wasn't stuck in traffic. Just as I was about to pull out my phone to call him, I saw his car pull up into the parking lot. I got up quickly before getting inside.

"Thank you so so so so much!" I said as I leaned over to hug and kiss him.

"Anytime." He said as he drove off. "What were you doing out here anyways? How did you even get out here?" Rome asked while driving.

"I went to a wedding and something happened at the reception and my friend got super mad at me and left me." I sighed.

"Damn, what kind of friend is that?" Rome asked.
