I panted, breathless with excitement, as I sprinted myself as fast as I could back home. A huge grin plastered onto my face as I thought of my older cousin visiting my house today, I couldn't wait to see her! She could show me new things today, like flowers and what it feels like to be a grown up. I quickly reached my small house and threw open the door smiling like a big fool, and ran through the dining room.
"I'm home!" I childishly exclaimed, as I jumped up and down. Hearing the footstep of my parents and cousins run down the stairs, I shrugged off my backpack and sat down on a chair.
"Hello, my baby girl. How was school?" My mother gently asked, as she smacked a huge wet kiss on my forehead. Ew! I internally shivered at the wet feeling of lip gloss remaining onto my forehead. I quickly frowned at my mothers words.
"Hey! I am not a baby, I am almost eleven years old! I am a big girl now, like Akiya. Right, nee-chan?" I asked with childlike wonder slipping out into my question. Akiya gracefully smiled and sank to her knees, reaching out for a hug.
"I hope you don't grow up too fast. Besides, I am only 16 years old ya know? I am not that old." She delicately answered, as she was wearing a cautious smile. I was beginning to wonder why Akiya was acting so quiet today, maybe her younger sister was being mean again. I brightly smiled at my favorite cousin, who was like a sister.
"I want to be just like you when I grow up!" I cheerfully responded, and didn't realize the look of sadness and pain flashing in her eyes. Akiya cleared her throat and tightly hugged me.
"Will you always love me? No matter what?" She whispered tight with a foreign emotion that I couldn't recognize. Still a little unsure, I smiled just for her and whispered right back into her ear.
"I will always love you, because you are just like my sister. No matter what, believe it!" I made a silent joke with the catchphrase of the show, Naruto. I felt Akiya stiffen, and felt dread leak into my stomach, did I say the wrong thing? I slowly felt relief when I saw my sister like figure wear a smile. But why was it so sad, I questioned. I felt Akiya chuckle at our silent joke as I saw my parents confused facial expressions, and I soon cracked a grin as well. Pulling away from our hug, I saw Akiya slowly back away, almost like she was trying to preserve this moment. I shrugged it off, I would ask her later.
"Honey, how come you came home so late?" My father questioned with a fatherly tone, as his eyebrow was raised in a form of disbelief. I was slightly confused, and look at the clock hanging on the wall next to the door. It was already 5:30, I guess I took too long coming home. I glanced at my father, while I casually shrugged. Hearing his reluctant sigh, I felt my lips slowly pull up into a smirk.
"Baby, why don't you do homework in your bedroom while I make dinner?" My mother gently ordered me. Shooting her a playful glare, I slowly trudged towards the stairs towards my room. I opened my bedroom door only to be greeted by the familiar scent of apples and mango's. I sauntered towards my desk and pulled my homework out of my bag. I sometimes despised being in advanced class, I didn't want to learn about pre-algebra while i'm 9 years old! I carefully moved my Naruto action figures to the edges of my desk, so that they wouldn't get in the way of my load of homework. Silently heaving to myself, I felt my body wanting to rest. Glancing at the clock one more time, I decided that it wouldn't hurt if I took a small power nap and with that I closed my eyes.
What I didn't know was that when I woke up, everything would change.

I yawned slowly, as I gradually stretched my body from the awkward position I had slept in. Peering over to the side, I noticed that I slept for five hours! It was already ten, I got out of my chair and pushed the door open. Immediately, I could tell something was wrong. It was too quiet, and the lights were still on. Feeling the fear starting to sludge through my veins like ice, I quickly went down the stairs to check if my family was downstairs. I wasn't prepared for what I saw next. My mother was laid face down on the floor with a huge gash down her back, and multiple stab wounds littered her body. It looked as though she was trying to crawl away, I was felt frozen. This couldn't be possible, my child like mind was trying to reason. But it was all too real, it wasn't a sick dream that I had just made up. I quickly called out for my father and Akiya. The desperation was all too clear in my voice as I walked around the living room looking for another dreaded corpse. Walking into the dining room, I saw my father leaning back in his chair, neck slit across for all to see. The blood was exactly like a curtain covering his neck and dripping down his ice cold body. All I had left was Akiya, I regretfully thought.
