Present Day

||Chloe||
It's been 8 years since Chloe had been forced to drop out of school and face the life of being a young mother. Till this day she found it hard to believe that she was raped and he was still out there. There was nothing she could do and there was nothing more unsatisfying than that. She couldn't remember what he looked like, she couldn't even remember how it went down. All she knew was that she woke up on a hospital bed, in pain, her face bruised.
It was a haunting memory.

She eventually gave birth to a boy, he was beautiful, her dream child in fact . He was constantly smiling and his curly hair was very easy to maintain. She loved him more than anything. She just wished he hadn't come into her life the way he did but she never took that out on him, she had never even bothered to tell him the story, he was too young for that news anyways.

As he grew older, he became her only ray of sunshine. Making her smile through whatever. Her father had been too disappointed to focus on her the way he usually did, he expected more from her. She was disappointed in herself as well, her father's anger was understandable but yet abandoning her when she needed someone the most didn't seem like a fair punishment seeing as it wasn't fully her fault but there was nothing she could do but try to move on.

And so she did, at least she felt she did. Mason grew to become a very handsome little boy and he cared for his mother very much.

Laura of course had continued schooling and was now the P.A to a well known organization and took it upon herself to help Chloe whenever she needed anything, she had blamed herself for everything that had happened that night. She dragged Chloe out that night, got her drunk and left her alone. No good friend would've ever done that, although Chloe had tried to convince her times without number that she wasn't to blame, she still knew and she couldn't help the guilt that etched her everytime her best friend was in need.

"Laura I need to do something, anything other than this crappy waiting, I can't keep depending on you for everything, sooner or later you're going to have your own family going" I ranted.

Laura sat there lost in thought.

Was she even listening to me?

"Uhm, earth to Lee, are you listening to me?"

"Oh uhm yeah I heard you, I just remembered something, not sure you'll be thrilled about it but..."

"But what?"

"Well My boss is planning to host interviews pretty soon, he needs a new receptionist."

"What happened to the last one?"I asked curiously and Laura chuckled in response.

"Let's just say she wasn't cut out for the job but it's pretty good pay, good enough at least."

"At this point, anything is better than working in that damned coffee shop" I sighed in annoyance.

"Well I have to warn you, it's a very strenuous job and he doesn't make it any easier"

"Who's he?"

"That would be my boss, Liam Morris, his father owns the organization, he can be a real pain in the ass"

I could recall Mr Morris from a few of the daily business magazines I had stumbled on the other day, as well as on the news a few times.
He was bastardly rich and everyone knew of his daughter, Lianna Morris seeing as she owned multiple fashion boutiques in Washington but I had never seen any mention on his son.
