I brushed my teeth and ran my fingers through my hair a couple of times.

I looked into the mirror and saw my blue eyes, dull and lifeless looking as it usually was.

I threw my bag over my shoulder and walked downstairs.

I checked the time.

6:37 AM

I didn't want to shout because it was too early for that.

I looked around my living room to find Cadenza, but she wasn't there.

I looked in the kitchen and the tables in the kitchen and I saw her eating a bowl of cereal.

"Morning." She said giving a faint smile.

"Morning."

"After you eat, will you be ready to go?" I lasted grabbing my bag strap.

She nodded and shoved a spoonful of Cheerios in her mouth.

She was wearing something very fashionable, as always.

Everything always complimented each other and I would find that very hard to do, considering that Cadenza's hair was an orange that ombréd to yellow.

It suited her though.

It made most of her features pop.

Yes, she is my sister. Hard to believe isn't it? We're polar opposites.

She's outgoing.

I'm not.

She's popular.

I'm not.

She's sporty.

I'm nerdy.

Polar opposite siblings.

But you know what they say, opposites attract, which explains why we get along so well.

People hardly notice that we're related.

"I'm ready." Cadenza said with her bag over her shoulder.

•••

"We learned this already." Aphmau said whispering.

"Yeah, I know." I replied back.

"She's not really paying attention to anything." She said giggling.

"I know."

"Look at all of the students, they moved their desks and everything." She whispered as if the teacher were going to catch us.

"I know."

"Are you only going to say 'I know?'

"Who knows how to write in an MLA format?" The teacher interrupted.

I raised my hand.

"I know." I said loud enough for her to hear.

I answered the question and I looked at her and saw her laughing uncontrollably.

"It wasn't that funny." I dead panned.

"I know." She stated turning my joke into hers.

I smiled, bigger than my usual shy normal smile.

"You look better when you smile." She she said.

I shook my head. "No, I don't smile often." I said still smiling.

I pushed up my glasses and looked toward her.

She gave a confused look, then it seemed like she was thinking about something.

"How come you're smiling right now then?" She asked arching her brow playfully.

"I don't know."

The bell rang, dismissing us. Today, English was my last class, so school was over.

I quickly grabbed my things and so did she, throwing her bag over her shoulder.

"Where you headed to?" She asked walking with me to my locker.

I shrugged. "My younger sister does cheer so I'm stuck here cause I'm her ride."

"Oh." She said looking up at me.

I looked past her and saw Aaron and the others walking toward me.

"I-I gotta go." I said keeping my eyes on them shutting my locker.

"Wh–"

She didn't get to finish her sentence before I could dash off, fast walking and pulling my hood over my head.

I felt bad, I just left her there.

But yet I barley know her.
