AFTER SIX MONTHS

My family was unaware of the events at Lovely villa. The Curtis have finally gone. We lived happily thereafter. 

The police took the nurse under custody for Farouk's death. I felt guilty for a month. I had slipped into depression. But i slowly forgot about it. I started going to school as usual. The locked room was now converted into a guest room!

The weather has changed. It is summer now in South hampton. It felt good to walk on streets free of ice. There was life in all the trees. South hampton looks more beautiful now. The lake- it no longer looked scary. It was peaceful to go there and watch the children swim and have fun.

I wish Jason to get well soon. Mrs.Drew has become a stranger to me. She keeps on avoiding me and ignores me everytime. She feels that i was responsible for Jason slipping into coma. Well, it was true. But i love Jason- more than anyone in this world!

I was waiting for my chance to see Jason. i had spent two hours going through my wardrobe and finally decided to wear the  sleeveless floral print square neck dress. I had put on matching earrings too. I was sod desperate to meet him that i decided to break in.

But i stood near the door-listening to the conversation between mother and son.

'Where is Katherine?,' asked Jason.

'She's out there, waiting to see you,' replied Mrs.Drew.

'Mom, call her inside. I want to meet her,' said Jason.

I smiled.

'I will send her,' said Mrs.Drew.

I heard Mrs.Drew get up. Footsteps neared the door. I quickly ran to the chair where i was sitting patiently for the last fifteen minutes.

'Oh, Mrs.Drew,' i said when i saw her coming out.

'Jason wants to see you,' she muttered and stomped away.

I was very excited. I could feel butterflies in my stomach. 

I saw Jason sitting upright on the bed with a foolish grin on his face. I quickly burst into tears. So stupid of me!

'Jason!,' i cried and fell into his arms. I kissed him fervently. I was the most happiest person in the world!

'JASON! It was my fault. I-I.....'

He placed a finger on my lips.

'I don't want to hear anything ,' he said, pulling me into a hug.

'I'm so happy to see you,' i said wiping my tears.

'Me too,' he said.' I love you.'

'I love you too.'

After few days, Jason was discharged from the hospital. Mrs.Drew organised a small party to welcome him. I was invited too. After all, I was his girlfriend!

Jason kept on asking me how i managed to get rid of the ghosts. But i never told him about the crime i had committed. I used to kiss him whenever he asked me that question. He used to get so lost in the kiss that he would forget everything for a while.

One night, i heard Tv blaring outside. I thought Nick must have left it on. I put on my slippers and went out to switch it off.

I froze when i saw three figures sitting on the sofa. Shiver went down my spine. They turned their heads towards me. They looked rotten and deadly.

'Hello, Kat!'

Then i remembered. THE BRINTON FAMILY HAS TURNED INTO GHOSTS!

'AAAGHHHHHHHHH!'
