My name is no, my sign is no, my number i-BAM
Kyra slammed her fist on her alarm clock, that played the nearest pop station as her alarm.
"Ugh I can't believe it's morning already," she groaned and got out of bed.
"I know right! But our first day of classes! I am SO excited. What's your first class?" I asked her.
"English. Yours?"
"English! Awesome, I'm so happy I know someone in my first class." I grinned, then went to my closet. I grabbed a longer grey t-shirt and dark wash jeans. I chose some black ballet flats to go with it and went to the bathroom to get ready.
"I'm showering now Kyra."
"Go ahead, I will after you."
I took time shampooing my hair, making sure it would look great for the first day. Once I was done showering, I changed into my outfit, blow dried my hair and applied my makeup. Kyra was waiting for the bathroom when I was done. As I waited for her, I grabbed my iPhone to check my Instagram. I scrolled through my feed, seeing what all my hometown friends were up too. They were going to their first day of school at Handon High School, where I would have gone if I hadn't have transferred. I missed them already, but I loved RA so far. 20 minutes later, Kyra came out of the washroom.
"Cute outfit!" I said.
"Thanks," she blushed. "Ready?"
"Definitely." I followed her to the English classroom, since she knew  where it was.
"So you came to RA for grade 7,8 & 9?"
I asked curiously.
"Yup" she said. "Scared of being the new girl?"
"Yeah, a little." I grinned at her.
"You'll do fine Raleigh. Everyone will LOVE you." she reassured me.
"Thanks Kyra." We walked in silence the rest of the way. 3 minutes later we entered the classroom. It was super cool. Couches and armchairs were set up in a semicircle in front of a desk. Students were already seated and chatting. We took our seats and I put my bag beside my chair.
"Alright, welcome to class students!" A big, burly old man with grey hair, crinkly eyes and a moustache announced. "I am Mr. Phelps, and I will be attempting to teach you English." Everyone laughed. "We will start by introducing yourselves. We went around the circle.
"I'm Makayla." A petite brunette said quietly.
"Gavin." A guy with short brown hair said confidently.
All around the circle until me.
"I'm Raleigh." I said blushing and looking at my feet.
"Hi, I'm Kyra!" She said bubbly.
We went all the way around until Mr. Phelps. The class was a blast, and the people were pretty friendly. So far, so good. I thought to myself.
**later in the caf**
"So, how were your classes?" Kyra said, sipping her Dr. Pepper.
"They were great! I absolutely LOVE English and Art. The best classrooms and teachers." I took a big forkful of my chicken penne pasta.
"I wish we were in the same art class. Make any new friends?" She giggled.
"Not yet, but I did talk to a guy in art who sits beside me. Actually, he's in English. Gavin I think"
"Gavin? Oh my goodness, he is like the most popular guy in the 10th grade!" She whisper yelled.
"Oh. Well he seems nice. We just talked about how awesome our art project is. We get to make our own-"
"Raleigh. He's an equestrian too. You'll get to see him all the time."
"Really? Cool! I guess I'll see him at our first meeting today. Speaking of which, I'm almost late. Gotta run!"
"Have a good meeting!" She called after me. I grabbed my tray and tossed my napkin in the garbage. Just as I got to the door, a girl with a blonde highlights stepped in my path.
"Raleigh, is it? Well. I heard your on the equestrian team. I guess I'll see you there!" She smiled bittersweetly, matching her voice. With that, she turned on one foot and walked away, one girl following her.
I walked out the door, a little confused. Just as I walked right into...
Yup that's right. Gavin. Supposedly Mr. Popular.
"Woah, Raleigh! In a rush somewhere?" He grabbed my arm to steady me, grinning.
"Oh yeah," I flushed. "Just to the equestrian meeting."
"Oh cool! I'm going there too. Want me to show you the way?"
"Sure!" I smiled.
As we walked, we talked about art and English, our other classes, until we walked past Highlights Girl and Co.
"Hey, what's her name?" I looked in her direction.
"Oh I see you have met." He laughed. "Her name's Mia. Don't get on her bad side."
"And how would I do that? I looked up at him.
"Hmm well probably just by walking with me." He said seriously. "Everyone knows she has a huge crush on me.
I laughed.
"Doesn't seem like it's mutual."
"Nah, I don't care for girls like her. Acting like they own the place. Those city snobs." He laughed.
"Apparently you're Mr. Popular yourself." I smirked at him.
"Alright, you got me there." We both laughed as we reached the stable door. He opened it for me, allowing me in first. I walked straight into horse poo.
"Who put this right by the door?" I said, hardly fazed seeing as I own a horse and practically lived in my barn at home. Gavin laughed at me and then Mia walked in smirking.
"Come on Gavin. Let's go get a spot." They walked away together laughing.
I looked at my ballet flat, feeling like the pile that was on it.

What?! Gavin's with Mia? Like, comment and vote!
