Chapter 6: Tooth Fairies

Start from the beginning

"Dammit Abe! What are these things?!" He'll boy asked. Abe said something on a language that not even Syrena understand.

"English, English!" Hellboy said.

"They're, ah, tooth fairies."

"Ha!"

"No no. Third century, Black Forest, feed mostly on calcium, bones, skin, organs. But they do go for the teeth first. Ha, hence the name tooth fairy."

Syrena heard a noise coming from behind her and turned. There was a small blue winged creature that come out from behind a picture frame.

"That's the tooth fairy? It doesn't look dangerous." The agent behind Syrena says.

"Not all things are what they seem." Syrena tells him.

There was screaming from the other room to the side of them before it stopped and there was silence, which was short lived as thousands of the tooth fairies came out and attacked them. Syrena, quick as lightning shot arrows at any of the creatures that were close to her. Turning her bow behind her shoulder and letting go the arrow flew through the air hitting 5 of them at the same time without looking in that direction.

A scream behind her made her pause and Syrena watched the agent she was with getting attacked by the fairies. He fell down to the floor squirming around in pure agony as they dug their teeth and ripped his flesh.

"Help me!" He reached out a blind hand

"No. Put I will put you out of your misery."

She pulled the arrow back and let it go hitting him in the middle of his head. As the creatures continued feasting Syrena went back to put as many of these vile things down as possible. She met up with Abe and fought next to him, both getting bit at times by the tooth fairies.

"You should be running." Liz said and Syrena just noticed that she was on fire.

"There's a safe up stairs."

There was a crash from the wall to the side of them as the big statue came through, they all moved out of the way in time. And now there was a clear path for them to be able to go upstairs. Syrena and Abe got up the stairs with ease. They both made it up to the safe—the agent with the Abraham, Neal, meeting an unfortunate fate—and Abe got in first and the siren followed. Tooth fairies started biting at them as the tried to close the door. Suddenly, an idea strikes her mind and Syrena stepped out.

"Syrena! What are you doing?!" Abe asked.

"I just want to try something!"

She quickly ran off before he could try and stop her. If she somehow could channel that force from before like she had done earlier this night, then maybe it could help put a stop to all this chaos. Swatting her way down the steps she saw Liz, her flames grew bigger and brighter and was about ready the burst.

"RED, STAY AWAY FROM THE WINDOW!"

Syrena looked at her brother who was standing by the window. He held out his arms and said some words she couldn't hear over the roaring fire. Before she could react Liz exploded and Syrena held out her hands before blacking out.

"Syrena...Syrena can you here me?"

The siren opened her eyes and saw the worried face of her fishy friend. Syrena looked around and saw that she was in a room she didn't completely recognize. It seemed to be some type of infirmary.

"Where am I Abe?"

"The B.P.R.D., we brought you back with us. We were all worried sick." Abe said checking a monitor to her right.

"Wait! I should be dead! I should have been burned alive."

"You were." He said grimly and Syrena looked at him.

"When we found you, your body was a completely roasted corpse—all expect for your mothers necklace. Then the strangest thing happened. The Jewel in the middle of the necklace started to glow, and you healed in an instant. You though were still unconscious. I checked your pulse on the ride here, took a blood sample once we got back and looked for anything unusual. And I found that your natural DNA has been corrupted."

"What?"

"Well it seems that since you've been wearing that necklace, you have unlocked inside you, and it has changed in your DNA as well."

"That's....something."Syrena muttered, sitting up from the medical bed and winced.

"Be careful!" Abs placed a hand on her arm.

"Where's is he?" Sryena asked.

"Red is on his room watching the news. Apparently because of this whole mishap—all of them, he's getting a new DA."

"Another one?"

"Yes. Oh, let me just give you a few more check ups and you can leave. Red convinced Manning and your old room is set up with somethings from your apartment—"

"Wait—hold on, Abe. I'm not staying here!" Syrena said.

"Please,we're going to need your help. We don't know yet what we're up against and could need all the help we can get. Plus, your brother misses you dearly."

"Fine." Syrena says. Abe nods and thanks her before giving her a quick check up and walking out of the door and Syrena sighed.

"I'm so going to regret this."
