This book is not a story. This book is a study book for those who likes to study science. I put this way for those who are so lazy to study in their actual books. So, yeah. Hope this book helps you for your knowledge about science.

2 The refraction of light occurs when the speed of light changes. This happens when light travels through two types of media that have different densities.
3 (a) The speed of light decreases when light enters a denser medium, for example, from air to glass. (b) It increases when light enters a less dense medium, for example, from glass to air.
4 When light travels at an angle from a less dense medium to a denser medium, it is refractedtowards the normal. This is shown in Figure 1.20 when light travels from air through the glass block.
5 When light travels from a dense medium to a less dense medium, it is refracted away from the normal. Figure 1.20 shows propagation of light rays from the glass block to air.

Figure 1.21
Procedure 1 A rectangular glass block is placed on a piece of white paper. The outline of the glass block is drawn on the white paper.
2 A beam of light from a ray box is directed at an angle to the glass block (Figure 1.21).
3 Two crosses are drawn on the beam of light which travels towards and away from the glass block.
4 The glass block is removed and the path of light is drawn on the white paper.
5 Steps 2 to 4 are repeated but this time the beam of light is directed to a right angle to the glass block.
