Tell Me

Small talk isn't my cup of chai
I'm not a fan of simple, quick "hi's"
Chit-chat by familiar passerby's
Leaves me with lips zip tied

Slow down just an hour or two
I need to understand you

Tell me your favorite color
Or about that trip you took one summer
Tell me what angers you
Or even the things that inspire you
Tell me your thoughts
Not about this soda you bought

Tell me things where you just want to cry
Why you always sigh
Tell me about your day
Even about the rat you just saved

Tell me everything there is
I long to know the things that you wish
I always have a listening ear
Come talk to me
Tell me why you hated last year
Tell me about all the things you've seen
You're so amazing to me
