Royals: Part 5

Chapter 2

Carole beamed at Mary Kate and George, who she had cuddled in her arms. "Look at them, two little angels. They really could be brother and sister."

"We think so too," Jackie agreed.

Michael and Carole Middleton had arrived in Norfolk to visit Mary Kate and George. Jackie was very close with the Middletons. After her mother and father died, she had spent every Christmas with them in Bucklebury. Mary Kate even wore the blanket and bonnet set Carole had given her during the photo call outside of the Lindo Wing.

Michael, Carole, Jackie, Harry, Kate, Will, and the babies were gathered in the sitting room of Anmer Hall, talking all about the new additions.

"Have you two been getting enough sleep?" Carole asked Jackie and Kate.

Kate shrugged. "He wakes up quite a bit, but its been getting better this week."

"We've been trying this little crib that attaches to the side of our bed, so I don't have to get up to feed her. It's really helped," Jackie said.

"They've fallen asleep," Michael pointed out. Sure enough, George and Mary Kate had both fallen asleep in Carole's arms. "Should we take the pictures now?"

"Sure, why don't we go out back?" Kate suggested. Jackie and Kate took the babies from Carole and they all walked out into the back garden of Anmer Hall.

"How about over there by the tree line?" Michael suggested, pointing over to the edge of the thick trees that Will and Kate had planted for privacy around their home. "We shouldn't have too much going on in the background of the photo."

Jackie, Harry, Kate, and Will walked over to the trees, Mary Kate and George both sleeping soundly in their mother's arms. Jackie couldn't get enough of the sweet little noises the cousins made as they slept, their faces contorting to just about every emotion from smiles to puckers as they dreamed.

"Oh, that's great!" Carole said, standing behind Michael, who was pointing his camera at the couples. "Jackie, pull her blanket down just a bit."

Jackie tucked the edge of Mary Kate's blanket under her chin so her whole face was in the view of Michael's camera.

"Girls, tilt the babies forward just a bit, so we can see them better." After Jackie and Kate made the adjustments, Michael seemed satisfied. "Smile!"

Carole and Michael examined the picture. "Oh, that's a great picture!"

After taking a few more pictures in the same pose, Michael asked Kate and Jackie to take one together with the babies. Carole even got a bit emotional, as she had at both Kate and Jackie's weddings. "Mum, please!" Kate laughed.
