01.The Dream

"I know what I need to do, but I don't know if I have the strength to do it. Will you help me?"

Han Solo nodded to his son.

"Anything,"

Rey wanted to scream, to hold him back, to do anything but watch. But her feet were glued to the ground.

She tried to scream, "Han! No! Noo.." But it was barely above a whisper.

Kylo Ren held out his lightsaber, and put it in Han Solo's hands, without letting go.

Then, Rey saw the coldness in Kylo's eyes as the lightsaber turned on and stabbed him in the gut.

"Thank you..." Said Kylo Ren, without a lick of remorse on his face.

Han Solo simply stared, eyes wide, not a word coming out.

Rey couldn't hold it in and started sobbing. "No, Please,"

How could he? His own father!

And with that Han Solo plummeted to the ground.

She couldn't watch anymore.

She couldn't believe someone would do something so cold and so heartless.To have the potential for such evil.

As she looked up, she saw something in his eyes. Was it? Could it be? Remorse?

But just as quickly as it had appeared, it disappeared, and Kylo Ren turned.

Chewbacca growled, and shot him. There was nothing she could do but hope that it would stop him.

Rey felt nothing but rage and anger. She tried to run to Han, in tears, but it was no good, she wasn't going anywhere. She was full of rage and red hot fury.

"Rey!" She heard a hazy voice from far, far away.

She looked around but saw nothing but the dark ominous glow of the long walkway in front of her and the many closed doors.

"Rey!" She opened her eyes, and let out a gasp. It wasn't real.

There, sitting on her bed in front of her, was Luke Skywalker.

"Are you alright child?" He asked, worriedly.

Rey nodded and sat up quickly, "Just some bad dreams,"

Luke sighed, "They haven't stopped have they?"

"No," She whispered. "What time is it?"

"4:30, I was going to wake you in half an hour anyway,"

Rey sighed and looked up at the old man standing above her, who despite his age, was quite strong.

"Don't you...Don't you ever miss Han?" she asked quietly. She felt awful, bringing the topic up out of nowhere, but she couldn't help it. How could Luke stay so strong with his best friend gone?

Luke stood up abruptly, Rey moved away carefully, she didn't want to make him angry" He was my best friend. Always there for me, saved my life a couple times," he said, a sad smile crept onto his face as he reminisced. "Oh, he isn't gone. He's always there, watching us, I bet he's here now. Watching us, trying to protect us,"

Rey nodded, "I know what you mean," she had often felt her parents' presence within her, and wherever she went, in the Force-maybe-she wasn't sure.

She felt a pang of sadness as she thought of her only friend, Finn. He had talked about Poe, but she hadn't known of him.

Luke smiled sadly, and turned towards her, "Good, if you have true friends, only then will you able to succeed. Because you see, you can't always do everything alone, sometimes you need help. Only true friends will fight till the end with you,"

Rey smiled sadly, "Sometimes, I wonder, what it would be like..." She trailed off.

"What is it, child?" He asked.

"What it would be like... If none of this had happened,"

He shook his head, "There is nothing to regret. It was bound to happen. The Force is strong with you, and if used for good, you will become more powerful then you can possibly imagine,"

Rey nodded.

"It's time...Time I told you about my father. Anakin Skywalker,"

"Anakin?" She asked, her brow furrowed. Why did the name sound so familiar? Surely she hadn't heard it before..

"Anakin...My father...He had an alter ego,"

Alter ego? What in the galaxy could he mean? And why does Anakin sound so familiar?

"I don't understand Master, what do you mean by alter ego?" asked Rey confused by the prospect of an alter ego.

"Certainly you've heard of Darth Vader," asked Luke.

She nodded.

"Well, Darth Vader was none other than Anakin himself,"
