What if your internet friend and you stayed at the same hotel, but knew about it and became "friends." You would get their number, and your parents would be like "yeah cool stay in touch whatever." so whenever your parents ask you who you're talking to, you could just say "that person from the hotel!" And they'd be like "you still talk to them?" And then you could say "yup" and be on your merry way.
