I stood with the mirror in front of me. I was bandaging my side. Adding the total of 17 scars I have from my Masters lightsaber and beasts who trained me to be who I am.

You cannot get tired. You cannot be weak. If you're weak, he'll find a way to make you weaker. Luckily this was how I grew up. Run from the things that made me weak. Not just physically, but emotionally. I ran from my parents. Ran from any friend. Ran from feelings in general.

But now its using all feeling. Its pushing that forward from inside. I was being trained to fight for the Separatists. Sometimes I look less like a girl and more of a machine. A machine that has codes and protocol to follow. Thats what these training sessions were for. To drill every possibility of losing and use it to win.

My scars from my Master and beasts covered my arms and sides and back. Lightsabers are hard to use. They're even harder to learn how to defend yourself against one. In no way was I natural at that. But it's been a year now. My Master seems to believe I have power that only needs to be released.

I hadn't slept in months. Here you need to be sharp at all times. My bags and sweat plagued my pale face. My light brown hair was ratty and messy and contrasted my darker eyebrows. I gripped it in my hands, it was brittle and fell out in my hands. I felt ugly. I felt disgusting being here. I wasn't me anymore. I was different, looking at myself reminded me of who I was. Someone who was honest and wanted to protect and care. I went to the scissors I kept in a drawer. I cut my hair, changing it to be just above my shoulders instead of at my waist.

I pushed my greasy hair out of my face and held back any emotions. In this light I could see my freckles that danced across my nose, mocking me. If only my parents would see who I'd become. I made enough money to bail them out... I was just too scared to see if they were still alive.

"Chakrei, out here now." I heard my Masters voice.

"Yes, Master Dooku." I said, putting my shirt back onto my body.

"It's time." He told me when I came out.

"Time for what, Master?" I asked.

"To prove yourself over my other apprentice." He told me, guiding me to another room.

"Other apprentice?" I asked, fear entering my body.

"Yes. I only want the best at my side." He said in front of the door. "I can sense your fear young one, use it. This will be a fight."

"How do I win?" I asked,

"Don't die." He said, opening the door up to a completely gray room.

I walked in, a few moments later another girl came in. A Dathomirian girl a little older than me. She had no hair and face tattoos on either sides of her mouth. She was intimidating, I'll give her that. But this is not the day that I die.

"This is my competition?" She snickered, "You couldn't have made it just a little hard for me? Please, pretty girl. You'll be eaten alive out here."

I said nothing. She was a few inches taller than I and stared down at me and bit at me with her words. I only kept my face hard like I did in my hunting days. I might be young and not exactly intimidating, but I let my actions prove my worth, not my words.

"Shake hands." Master Dooku said into the room.

We both reluctantly, shook hands, then stepped away from each other.

"The fight will commence after I count to ten."

1
My heart begins to beat faster than it ever has.
2
I take a moment to breathe in, pushing it inside and balling it into my fists.
3
We begin to walk circles around each other.
4
I find my anger, my fear, my moments of weakness.
5
I turn them into adrenaline. I feel it like the flame lighting a candle.
6
We unsheathe our lightsabers. She had 2 curved hilt. Mine personally was 2 standard hilt, for now. I never needed anything special to train in.
7
She swung hers arrogantly, I kept mine still towards the floor.
8
She was arrogant. She thought she was the best. She seemed to never have gotten a scar. She mocked mine.
9
This arrogance would be her downfall.
10.
This is it.

She ran at me quickly, I blocked her strike. I forced her back off of me. I walked to her slowly. She ran back at me quickly and jumped over me. This was her first mistake as now I was able to clip into her thigh.

She stumbled and gripped onto the floor to stop herself. I allowed her to take the offensive as I took the defensive.

"What's wrong, pretty girl? Don't want to actually fight?" She taunted me, standing up. She revealed her thigh wound was not a harm for her.

She rushed at me, her tip was pointed toward me, she wanted to strike not fight. I noticed this and used my sabers to lift it up away. We found ourselves sparring, fighting for dominance in the battle. She was cocky, I could feel herself almost yawning.

I used this to my advantage, it was my turn to start jumping. The room was not completely empty. There were boxes lined up in the corners. I wiped her focus away and ran toward them.

I stood atop one with her on the one below me. She was excited, throwing extra boxes up towards me using the force. I was stronger than her. Using all my emotion I caught them, and threw them back at her, causing her to stumble back onto the ground.

She didn't stay down long though, she screamed coming back up at me, sabers raised and pointed. I lifted her tips of her sabers up with one of my blue training sabers and used my other to slice one of her hands off. She screamed and withdrew herself.

She held onto her hand, dropping her other lightsaber. I held my sabers on crossed on her neck.

"I think I can handle myself just fine." I told her.

"Good, Leta. Now kill her." I heard Dooku. The girl looked frightened. She looked into my eyes, begging to let her go. I have killed before, but never this close. I've never killed anyone while they stare into my eyes.

"Kill her now!" He demanded.

She surprised me, knocking my sabers out of my hands and away from her neck. She punched me with her good hand a few times. I felt anger, I could've saved her. Now she was a threat to my own existence. I forgot my goal. Both of us cannot leave here alive. I will not go down as the weaker one. I flew her back, and using the force now, I held her against the wall. I closed my eyes, imagining her throat in my hands. I felt her neck, I gripped it as tight as I could, then tighter than that.

I chocked her until the life left her body. I will not be weak. I will not be given an obstacle to become all I am.

"Good, Leta." Count Dooku spoke, "Meet me in the hall."

I opened my eyes. I saw her corpse. It was pale and fragile. Much like I'm sure she saw me when I walked in. I closed my fists and let her go. I retrieved my sabers and attached them at my side, leaving her behind.
