*Kaylee*

I woke up to the steady sound of the beeping machine next to Zack's bed. I rubbed my eyes.

"Good morning," I said to the lifeless body in front of me
"Today is the day you'll wake up," I smiled at him.

I stood up and walked out and into Brayden's room. He was surprisingly doing really good.

He still needed an oxygen tank and he would be in the hospital until his wound healed.

"Hey babe," he smiled
"Hi," I smiled back sitting on the edge of his bed
"You should probably go home and get some rest," he said
"Nope. Not until Zack wakes up," I shook my head and he frowned
"Kaylee, what- what if he doesn't?" He gulped
"No. He will, Riley told me so," I said
"Riley told you? Are you sure that wasn't your mind playing tricks on you, giving you false hope?" He asked
"It can't be-" he cut me off
"He isn't doing good. There's no signs of him waking up anytime soon. He has severe brain injures. Even if he does wake up he won't be the same person." He said and I just stared at him.

I stood up and walked out.

I won't believe it.

I need Zack.

*Third person*

Kaylee laid next to Zack on his hospital bed. Her hand intertwined with his.

His heart monitor beating at a steady pace. Beep. Beep. Beep.

Brayden was watching the small tv in the corner of the room while Rylan sat next to him doing the same.

Emma was also in Brayden's room. She knew how much Zack meant to Kaylee. She missed him.

She loved him. A lot.

A nurse walked into Brayden's room and the three kids heads turned to her.

"It's time for us to take away Zack's life support. I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do," the words escaped her mouth and Emma looked like she had just been shot.

Rylan stood up and pushed the nurse out of the way. He ran down to Zack's room.

*Kaylee*

"Kaylee! Wake up!" Rylan shouted
"Why?" I groaned
"They are gonna take away his life support!" He said and I shot up
"No," I whispered
"Go lock that door," I pointed and he did so.

I gripped Zack's hand tightly. Tears started escaping my eyes.

"I don't fucking care how close you are to that light you better come back. You are not leaving me you asshole. Do you understand?! Wake up!" I yelled
"Kaylee-" Rylan tried calming me down
"WAKE UP!" I screamed as I squeezed his hand and tears poured down my face
"You do know we have keys right?" A doctor chuckled coming in
"Kaylee, I know he's important to you- but he hasn't woken up and it's his time. He'll be in a better place," he said grabbing me and dragging me off the bed
"No! He needs to be with me! I've already lost one brother! I can't loose another!" I cried into Rylan's chest
"Can you take her out please?" He asked and a nurse and Rylan dragged me out
"NO! Zack! Please wake up!" I sobbed as my legs went limp and I fell to the ground outside the door.

Rylan rubbed my back and I cried into my hands. This isn't happening.

With all my strength I stood up and looked through the little glass window in the door to see the doctor drape the bed sheets over Zacks head.

I let out another sob. No. No no no no.

Emma ran over to me and looked through the window. Her face dropped and she looked like- well her boyfriend just died.

"Let me in!" I cried pulling on the locked door knob.

The doctor walked up to the door and gave me a sympathetic look.

"You have ten minutes," he said opening the door and me and Emma ran in
"Please, God, give me a miracle," I cried.

"I love you," she whispered to him before leaning down and pecking his lips
"I'll let you have your time," I smiled getting up and walking out.

I stood on the outside of the door. I just lost my best friend. I just lost my brother all over again.

"You said he'd be okay!" I yelled sliding down the wall
"Kaylee, Brayden wants you," Rylan said coming over to me and helping me up.

I nodded slightly and walked to his room. He tried to smile for me.

"Hey, come here," he said opening his arms
"Everything will be fine," he whispered as he wrapped his arms around me
"No, I just lost Zack. I already lost Riley. I almost lost you." I cried
"But you didn't loose me. I'm sill here. I'll make you happy again," he said
"I just want Zack back," I sobbed into his chest
"Ow," he winced
"I'm sorry! I forgot!," I said pulling away and leaning my head in his shoulder instead.

Suddenly Emma burst into the room. Her face so pale she could pass out any moment.

"Woah! Are you okay?!" I sniffled getting up from the hospital bed and grabbing her arms
"N-no! Z-Zack! He just starte- I kissed him- and he kissed back!" She panted
"What? Are you sure your not just day dreaming?" I asked
"I swear! I don't even know! He just-" her mind seemed blown
"Come on," I said leaving Braydens room and walking down the hallway and into Zack's room.

Zack was laying lifeless on his bed. I sighed and looked at Emma.

"But! He did!" She said shocked
"I want to believe you but I can't. He- he's dead." I sighed.
