"Ariella, get up. I made breakfast." My mother leaned down and pulled the covers off me.

"I don't want to go."

"Come on, you don't want to be late. The pancakes will get cold."

I slowly got up after she left and headed to the shower. It was rainy and gloomy outside so it would be perfect weather to wear comfy clothes.

It wouldn't make a difference to anybody else though, they'd still wear skirts. This town was brainwashed, I swear.

Everything about this town was nauseating. The people, the places, everything.

I hated it.

After I took a shower, I put on a sweater and some jeans. I braided my hair while I walked down to the kitchen.

"Hey honey, your pancakes are on the counter. I have to go to work, your father's already there. Do you think you could come and help after school?"

"Sure, I'll be there."

She kissed my cheek before heading out to the car.

I guess I'll be walking today.

I grabbed my bag after eating and headed to school. As soon as I walked in, all eyes were on me.

This happened everyday. They were all waiting to see if I had turned into them yet. Brainwashed like them.

I believe that once they hit a certain age, their parents told them what to do. My parents didn't do that. And that's why I loved them so much. They didn't push me.

I didn't have any business standing around in the hall so I started towards my first class, English.

I waved to Mrs. Lynn as I sat in the back, placing my bag on the seat next to me. Nobody sat there anyway.

"Miss Everret, how was your weekend?"

"Fine, yours?"

She smiled, "It was wonderful, thank you."

It would be weird to anybody else if you had a normal conversation with your teacher, but she was like me. She didn't like the people in this school.

The bell rang and everybody walked into class, talking. As usual.

Mrs. Lynn clapped her hands, "Okay so how was everybody's weekend?"

One girl, Camille, raised her hand. "Shopping."

I shook my head. She couldn't even form a full sentence.

Some girls agreed with her while I sat in the back, silent.

I wasn't always like this. I was actually bubbly and happy.

But then everybody grew up and suddenly we all had these rules. So I eased away from everybody and here we are.

But sometimes it was fun to be all quiet and secluded. It was fun to hear everybody talk about their weekend. I was like a little wallflower.

"Good, I have a surprise for you guys."

She walked to the door and opened it, revealing a boy.

He had his hands shoved deep in his pockets and his curly hair was slightly covering his eyes. His eyes glanced around the room until they landed on me, staying there.

I shifted in my seat a little. I normally didn't have a problem with people staring at, considering it happened everyday, but he made me a little uncomfortable. He seemed so concentrated on me.

I looked down at my desk and after a few seconds, I looked up again. This time he was raising an eyebrow at me.

"Class, this is Harry."

It would be greatly appreciated if people could vote and comment on this story. It would mean a whole lot.
