“Why the smile?”

Emma went down the stairs with the short navy dress that I loved. The gold heels sounded against the floor and her waist was adorned by a belt of the same color. Her eyes, which looked greener, were delineated in black and I knew she was wearing cherry lip gloss before I even get close to her.

“Because you’re here.” That was not a lie; it was just not a complete true.

I took out a handkerchief out of my pocket.

“A handkerchief?”

“It’s a surprise.”

“And I have to put it on now?”

I nodded and stood behind her. I put the handkerchief over her eyes and tied it behind her head. Emma grabbed my hand tightly, trying not to fall as we walked to the car. I opened the door and help her climb in.

“Are we there yet?” She asked while we walked.

“Yeah, we are here.” I told her.

I stood behind her and untied the knot of the handkerchief. The lights came on. Emma took her hands to her mouth when everyone screamed "Surprise!" She looked up at me and I shrugged. She hugged me and gave me a little kiss on the lips. Emma started walking between the people, greeting them. And before I knew it, I was being pulled away from her.

Gemma took my arm and dragged me out of the room. I rolled my eyes as she walked faster, pulling me by my arm. I looked back, watching how Emma greeted everyone as Eleanor and Perrie approached her. I returned my gaze to my sister who was walking with a frown on her face.

Gemma stopped and looked at me with a serious expression.

“What?” I asked her.

“Harry, Emma will kill you when she realizes what’s behind this party.” Gemma complained.

“Nothing will happen.” I say, calming her down.

She took a step toward me and put her finger in my chest, accusing me. With heels she was wearing she was of my high and her eyes looked at me angrily.

“Don’t tell me that nothing will happen, because you know what will happen.”

“Gemma you are making too much of this. Calm down and enjoy the party.” I said while putting my hands on her shoulders.

My sister snorted and I patted her on the shoulder before returning inside where the music played loudly. I saw Emma sitting at the bar. I walked among the people. Emma took the glass to her lips and took a sip of blue liquid. I approached her and held her by the waist. She rested her head on my chest.

I leaned over and kissed her lips. I could feel the taste of alcohol and cherry on her lips. She wrapped her arms around my neck, moving her lips on mine, kissing me back. I hugged her tightly, pressing her body closer to mine.

“I missed you.” I whispered on her lips.

She smiled and ran her fingers through my curls.

“Let’s dance.” She whispered and I took her hand, guiding her to the middle of the dance floor.

I circled her waist with my arms. The two of us were moving to the rhythm of music, between all people, as the lights flickered and changed colors. The music mixed. The bodies were pressing against each others, as alcohol make effect in the blood of many. Emma rested her head on my shoulder. Her body was moving against my body.

“Why did you make me a welcome party? I went only one week.” Emma asked me.

“Because I missed you.”

“Harry, you are terrible lying to me and you have used that excuse mane times.”

I made a face. I didn’t kwon how to answer to that.

“Harry.” Niall called me.

I sigh. Niall just saved me. I smiled at Emma before going, leaving her on the dance floor.

Emma was half asleep while I was driving to the apartment. Emma shifted in his seat, turning to me, her eyes almost closing with sleep. Her bare feet moved. Her body was incapacitated because of alcohol and the tiredness.

“Harry…”

“Yeah?”

“Trevor tried to kiss me.” She said.

I braked suddenly, causing the tires gnash against the road. The car that was behind me honked and the driver cursed me before he passed me and continued his way. I clenched my fingers hard on the steering wheel and turned to her. She was getting closer to immerse herself in deep sleep.

“What?”

“I ... I was on the roof and then entered. He said something about to change my mind about you and ... And that I'll like most new things. Then he got closer and closer and I... I gave him a slap and then left there. He then apologized and said no you weren’t showing so affectionate with me and he thought we were going to break...” She said between yawns.

I stared in disbelief at her words. She finally fell asleep and I kept driving. I gritted my teeth. Oh, now Trevor had really earned a punch in the face. I arrived at the building, I looked at Emma. I couldn’t wake her. She was too tired and I had forced her to go. I left the car and walked to the passenger door. I opened it and took her in my arms.

I looked at her shoes. I couldn’t get them out of the car, had both hands occupied by Emma. I shrugged; I’ll get them in the morning. I enter the building thinking about the hundred and one ways in which I would like Trevor to die.
