2 days after the New York mission (previous chapter)
Daisy PoV
We all gather round the the holler table looking at security footage of the young boy I 'picked' up 2 days ago and let's just say it's not going quite as we thought
"Well looks like we're not as lucky as we thought" I say with a huff looking at the team gathering around me and the footage
"Why I thought you said he told you everything he knew" ward asks confused
"Yeah he did he just didn't know anything, claims he just joined and was on his first mission, simple capture he says"
"Didn't turn out to well for him" hunter pitches in
I nod in reply and look at the team and see their eyes on me as they look at what to do next and with mack, May and coulson gone on a mission everyone looks to me for answers on what to do next but honestly I don't know they see me as some leader some hero but I'm not, I'm the one who caused all this mess with Whitehall and list and now some new hydra leader guy who we don't even know about I just I don't want there trust to be misplaced and I fear it might be.
"Look this is a minor set back, we will find out who the new guy is I promise ok" shouldn't of said that, never make promises you can't keep
"You heard her everyone back to work lets find this guy" ward chips in and everyone soon leaves not saying another word and then it's just me and him and he has that look on his face. Worry.
"Talk to me" he says
"About what there's nothing to say" I say trying to brush it off
"Really" he gives me a sceptical look
"Have you heard from her recently?" I know who he means. Yes.
"No, look I've got to go ok, work to do can we please just not talk about this" I leave fearing if I stay longer I will just explode and tell him everything, but I can't not yet at least
"We'll finish this later sk-daisy" he says as I leave, and I smirk at his mistake.
