Instead of a dystopian future or a romanticized past, Greenpunk quite often takes place in a technologically conscious now.
Zeppelins often drift through the skies covered with solar panels driving electric motors. Mobile phones and PDAs powered by their wearer's kinetic energy connect a wired world. Cities powered by gravity and wind fight to survive the ravages of the past, while petrocriminals and ecocops wage a war for the planet's future.
Greenpunk is the sub-genre where the wild imaginings of today become the reality of tomorrow. But this isn't Hippie tree-hugging. Greenpunk definitely has an edge of the fantastic.
