Limit #00: Into a New "World"

Superpowers.

Magic.

Supernatural abilities.

These things have always been part of our childhood fantasies, born from the limitless imagination of a little child. As well as man's natural desire to transcend the limits of the so-called "reality".

Supposedly, these things can defy science, bend the laws of nature and outright break the rules of the world we live by.

Supposedly.

But these things are figments of imagination created by restless little minds that will soon grow up and forget.

And when you grow up, you'll deem everything about these as "childish" and "immature".

But there are still times when even grown-ups succumb to these "childishness" and "immaturity".

Times when they're desperate for anyone or anything, as in anything at all no matter how stupid or foolish it is, to save them from whatever crisis they're in.

But what if these things are real? And not just some interesting story material from some fictional book? Or some myth from an unproven past?

Truth is... these things are real.

They exist somewhere out there. In fact, you may have crossed ways with someone with these powers. And you didn't even notice it.

Who knows, maybe that fortune-teller next door might be the real deal. Or that guy that was said to be able to withstand high voltages of electricity.

Now, I'm not telling you to just believe anyone getting hysterical and screaming for the upcoming end of the world or something.

Yes, these powers exist but as you can see, not everyone has them. In fact, there's only less than 0.001% of the whole world's population with these powers.

A small part of that 0.001% is scattered somewhere around the globe, either getting discriminated or revered for it. Sadly, it's mostly the first case though.

As for the majority of that 0.001%... they live in a special place isolated from the rest of the world. They quietly live there, unaware and uncaring of what's happening outside their home.

Unlike the whole world who generally believes that they, people with "magic", don't exist and are nothing but myths...

They, who live in isolation and are supposed to be just "myths", are quite aware that beyond their home exists an even bigger place.

But they don't care.

Or rather, they just stopped caring.

What's the point of caring when they can't even go there? And why would they want to go there when they are going to be judged and treated like freaks once their powers are revealed?

So they decided to feign ignorance. To pretend that there's nothing beyond their country's borders. As time passed by, the younger ones forget as the older ones died. Slowly burying the tales of the outside world to their graves.

And they're more than content with it.

To them, their island country is their whole world, What happens beyond it is none of their concern. Why bother with someone else's world when you've got your own?

Now that you know all these... It's no wonder why the whole world never knew about their existence before and even now, right?

Here comes the question.

If the things you read just now are all true and the whole world doesn't know about it... How come the one writing this knows?

Well... that'll be my little secret, for now.

Because that's another story for another time.

Before this tale officially starts... ask yourselves these:

"If you found yourself stepping into their world... What will you do? What will you believe in? Will you turn your eyes away from the truth? Or will you accept it regardless of how ridiculous it sounds?"
