Ezra Fitz maneuvered his way through the hall of Rosewood High school. He had broken up with the 5'2 girl who goes by the name of Aria Montgomery. She only broke up with him only because he has a son, well, past tense, DID have a son. He recently found out that Maggie Cutler, they child's mother, was a big whore and was screwing around on him back in high school. Ezra would be lying to everyone and himself if he said he was alright. Malcolm, the child, didn't deserve this. He was still under the illusion that Ezra Fitz was his father. Sure, he felt bad but he could stop with the self pity. He had nothing now. Aria left and so did Malcolm. He could try to cope with losing one but, both? No. The moment he found out that he was never a father he immediately called Aria but of course she didn't answer. He assumed she saw his number and hit decline because she was on a date with some piece of walking meat.

Ezra trumped into his classroom with no energy. He had mountains of papers to grade and tons of assignments to pass back out. He just had no motivation. He heard a faint knock on his classroom door and invited whomever it was inside.

"Mr. Fitz?" Two female voices spoke gently.

"Emily, Spencer. Uh hello."

"Okay, to make this less awkward were going to pretend that we aren't in school and were talking to you as Arias friends. Okay? Yeah, okay." Spencer said in her 'listen the fuck up' tone. Ezra just nodded, not interested im what they had to say.

All of a sudden Emily spoke up.

"You've been acting different lately, and your a fool to think nobody has noticed, unless your name happens to be Aria, she flinches anytime you ask her a question in class." Ezra sighed. It was true. Aria looked at him like a stranger. No a person she told everyone she was so deeply in love with.

"Bottom line is, We need to know if it's about Aria. If it is, she's claiming she's happy."

He scoffed at the teen girls. He folded his hands together.

"Look, it's cute you think all of my emotional problems revolve around your friend, but honestly it's none of your business and i don't need to tell you anything," Ezra looked up at the clock. "Hurry up ladies. Don't be late for Sixth period."

They walked out of that room with a look of shock to smear all over there face.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.--.--.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Ezra trudged down the hall much like he did most days. He had made a drastic decision that should have been made weeks ago.

Ezra was moving to New York.

His mother being the wealthy woman she is, bought him a new apartment and forgave him for all he's done.

When he got home everything was boxed up, like it had been for days. He pulled out a glass cup from one of the boxes and his new bottle of scotch he bought on the way home from work he downed it. In a matter of a half hour. He knew this would mean a wicked hangover in the morning but why should he care? In New York he'd meet someone to make him forget about the girl who hung him out to dry.

Interrupting Ezra from his thoughts there was a vibration coming from his pocket. He took it out and held the think black iPhone to his ear. It was Aria.

"Hello?"

"Hey."

"What do you want, Aria?"

"Uhh. I was just calling you back, Are you alright?"

"Im fine."

"Ezra, tell me." Ezra let out a dry laugh.

"Aria, we broke up. You aren't in my life. It's none of your business what im up to. Don't think about that call. It was an accident."

"What the He-" Ezra hung up before she could finish her sentence.

He had nothing.

He was ready to throw himself in a relationship just to get over her.

and with Ezra's cup in the sink and the 7.00$ bottle of scotch long gone and set on the counter, He left. Almost as if he was never a resident of that god blessed town.

[Aria.]

I would be lying if i said i wanted to be with Jake but i couldn't help myself. I needed to move on from the captivating man i spent an entire year of my life with. He was perfect, and he was all mine.

Spencer and Emily often referred to Jake as a hunk of walking meat that smelt awful. I was one to agree, that man had a bad stench. I had recently called Ezra, the captivating man i referred to earlier and he was acting strange. it took me a half hour to decide that it was time to go over and see what was wrong.

I walked slowly through the empty corridor and found myself in front of apartment 3B. I lifted my fist and knocked lightly, when nobody answered i lifted the Welcome mat and grabbed the spare key. I slid the key into the lock and slowly opened the door. When the door was fully opened i just lifted my hand to my mouth and felt hot tears stream down my face. The real tears.

I dropped to my knees and whispered,

"Ezra?"

No response.

"Ezra?" I said a little louder.

No response.

"Ezra?" I screamed.

No response.

My hands fell onto the floor and i curled into a ball and cried for god knows how long. I couldn't breath. I had no strength. I didn't want to move.

When I could finally get up, i didn't stop crying. I walked into the kitchen and saw his glass with an empty bottle of scotch next to it. I grabbed the glass out if the sink and hugged it into my chest. I was a force to recon with the fact that Ezra wouldn't be mine anymore.

Ezra wouldn't be in the same town anymore.

Ezra wasn't mine ever again.

i had no choice but to move on, but i wouldn't.

It was my fault. I should have picked up my phone. I should have broken out last kiss, i shouldn't have called him out of the blue like that. I shouldn't have acted afraid.

I should have loved him like i said i did.
