Chapter 1 (Ace)

I have to hurry, I'm going to be late! She's probably waiting for me at her window. I need to grab the sardines and run to her place. To think a kitten like her would like a kitten like me. I grab the sardines and rush out of the fish shop with the owner chasing me. I hide under a bush and wait a few seconds, then I dash to her house. "I hope I'm not too late..." I thought. I jump into her yard and go to the window. It's still opened. I search for her, and there she was. "I've been waiting forever Ace!" She exclaimed. I began to panic "I... I'm incredibly sorry Dawn.." I begin to apologize. What do I do, she seems really mad.. "I'm just teasing, my owner just opened the window!" She began to chuckle. "Phew" I thought, I didn't make her all that mad after all!

After we ate some sardines, I had to leave. I told her I would come tomorrow, if I were to stay any longer the fish shop man would catch me and send me to the pound. I walked home to my little ally way, into the dumpster and slept.

I woke up a few hours later, but I wasn't in my dumpster, nor my ally way. Instead I was in an abandoned building, kittens were circling around me. Then an elder cat came. It's very rare for me to see an elder. I'm normally looking at trash or sardines. He walked towards me, blind in one eye. I was frightened, he seemed so much larger and agile than me. He got closer and closer until it seemed as if our noses were touching. "Ace.. is it?" He asked. I nodded quickly fearing that if I were to answer any slower he would get upset and do something bad. "We've been observing you for a while now. We have found that you are one of the chosen ones, Ace." He said. I blurted out "What chosen ones do you speak of, one from a fairy tale?" I covered my mouth with my paws. "Dang it Ace, why'd you do that?" I thought. "Now now Ace, I recognize your fear. It's okay to be afraid, but fear not, I am not your enemy.." The elder said. "Who are you, and what chosen ones are you talking about?" I asked. He said "I am an elder cat, as you can tell. The chosen ones I speak of defend the world from evil animal-possessing spirits called---" "YOU EXPECT ME TO FIGHT EVIL ANIMAL-POSSESSING SPIRITS?!?!?!" I interrupted. "Of course Ace. You will be perfectly fine, it all matches up." Something walked into me. It didn't feel weird in any way, it felt empowering. I fainted immediately afterwards.

After the strange series of events I awoke in my dumpster. "Huh," I thought "maybe it was just a dream after all." I walked over to the fish shop, got some sardines, and went over to Dawn's window. "AAAHH!! HELP!!" I heard someone scream. DAWN! I dashed over to her yard and dropped the sardines. I looked around, there she was! There was some spirit thing attacking her. "Shoot, it wasn't a dream." I thought. I ran and I charged into the thing attacking Dawn. My sweet sweet Dawn. I fought with every last ounce of power within me. Then it happened. I began to glow. I was transformed into something. I ran to the pond in Dawn's yard. I was had a new mark on my forehead. It was an orange lightning bolt.
"The thing that walked into me looked like a horse." I thought. Does this mean I have horse powers, there's no time to find out, Dawn's still in trouble! I charged into the monster again, this time with some type of light thingy coming out of the lightning bolt. It disappeared into dust.
"Dawn! Are you alright?" I asked.
"I'm okay, thank you for... for saving me.. I didn't know you could do that.." She said.

I replied "I didn't know I could do that either."

I grabbed the sardines and gave some to Dawn. We ate and I headed out. Not to my dumpster. I went to look for the old abandoned building.
