Brianna's POV
BRIIIIIIINNG!!!
Finally. The weekend is here.Plus today is my seventeenth birthday. This year, I'm just going to stay in and watch Netflix. When I got to my house my parents were home. That's weird their usually not home until 6:00. I walked up the steps of my porch and opened the door. My parents were sitting on the couch looking like they were about to cry. Especially my mom, she's very sensitive. Actually now that I think about it they were acting strange all week.
"Mom, Dad, what's wrong?" I asked.
They finally noticed I was home. "Hey sweety, your mom and I need to talk to you." my dad said looking very serious which is also weird because he's the type of dad that makes dad jokes.
"Okay" I said slowly sitting across from them on the other couch. "What's up?"
"Okay honey, were going to tell you something very important. You must save your questions until the end. Okay?" said my mom, finally finding her voice.
"Okay."
" So where do I start? Your not human. Well not completely anyway. Your have special abilities that only 10% of the world's population has. You have powers. You can use the three T's. Telekinesis, telepathy, and teleportation. It is very dangerous to have these powers and not know how to use them. That's why we have to send you to an academy for other kids that have your powers. We should have sent you way earlier but we got a witch to seal your powers until you were seventeen. We just didn't want to let you go. But now it's time, we cant keep you from your powers any longer. So your leaving in 3 hours. You should pack your stuff." By then she was full on crying while my father was comforting her and I was bursting to ask my questions.
"Okay. So, here are my questions. Why are you just telling me this now? What is this academy your taking about? Where is it? What do I have to bring? And will I ever see you guys again?" I asked, my eyes watering.
"Oh honey, of course you'll see us again this is just temporary until you learn to control your powers. And you need to bring everything. All your clothes... you know necessities." mom explained. I didn't miss the fact that she tried to avoid my other questions.
"Mom... answer the questions."
She took a deep breathe before she continued. "Well... we didn't tell you because we wanted you to at least have a normal childhood. We wanted to be able to give you experiences that other children like you didn't have the chance to do. And about the location of the school, it's very secretive, even we don't know. Only the council knows."
"What is the council?" I questioned
"Ummmm... that's something you will learn at the academy. See this is why it's important for you to go. Now no more questions. Come on I'll help you pack." We walked to my room together.
Now we weren't rich. Actually I'm pretty sure we were considered lower class. I'm completely fine with that though, as long as I had my family. At that thought I suddenly started to break down and cry. I thought I was fine but clearly I was not. My mom was instantly at my side and my dad came in and we had a moment of all three of crying. After about an hour we stopped crying and finished packing my stuff. I only had a big suitcase and a carry-on.
At the airport we had another emotional goodbye and I got on the private plane (so i wouldn't know the location) with the promise to be safe and responsible, and that was a promise would keep no matter what. I feel asleep with one thought on my mind. What's going to happen now.
