Chapter 2

Nicki was in her maths class. She sat at the front while drake and his guys all sat at the back. Drake was shouting stupid thing out as usual. For some reason there was something about his voice that sounded familiar to nicki. She ignored it though.

The end of the lesson arrived sooner than she thought and it was now lunchtime. She was at her locker and as usual she was invaded.

Drake: what's up geeky.

He knocked her books out of her hand.

Drake: whoops

He walked away laughing

Nicki just picked them up as usual and put them away. When she was done she walked off with her head down. She bumped into the principal on her walk.

Nicki: I'm so sorry I-

Principal: it's okay nicki. Are you alright ? You seem upset. Do you wanna talk about it

Nicki: no it's okay.

She gave a small smile and walked away.

When she got outside she just sat listening to music as usual. After about 10 minutes her phone rang. It was Aubrey.

Aubrey: hey beautiful

Nicki: hi

He could tell by her voice that she was crying.

Aubrey: are you okay

Nicki: yeah , I'm fine

She then heard a voice in the background.

?: drake you coming to the canteen

Drake: yeah I'll be there in a second. Let me just finish this phone call

?: aight bro

Drake ? That's when it all clicked to her. That Aubrey the guy who was putting a smile on her face was also the same guy making her life hell.

Aubrey: sorry that was just one of my boys. But you sound like you're crying what's up

Nicki: nothing it's fine

Aubrey: where are you

Nicki: somewhere in the school

Aubrey: mind telling me where ?

Nicki: I don't think that's a good idea

Aubrey: why ?

Nicki: don't worry about it at the moment

Aubrey: but your crying. I don't want you to be upset

Nicki: it's okay don't worry about it. I'll call you later yeah

Aubrey: okay. Please stop crying. For me

Nicki: I'll try

Aubrey: hey , smile you're beautiful

They both waited a bit before hanging up.

Nicki was getting cold outside so she decided to go to the canteen. She went and sat in her own corner as usual.

She had gone the whole time without anyone bothering her, then all of a sudden she had two of the guys from the football team sitting one on either side of her and drake in front of her.

Drake: aww look at geeky all alone

Nicki as usual she didn't reply. The two guys beside her started poking her and pushing her around.

She looked down so she could hide her tears.

Drake: aww little cry baby

He took her glasses off and moved them away from her.

Drake: c'mon guys lets go

Nicki waited until they had left to start looking for her glasses. She had a free last so after putting them on she went up to the library.

Nicki was lost in a book when she felt her phone vibrate. She took it out of her bag and found she had a text from Aubrey.

Hey beautiful X -Aubrey

Hey x -Onika

How are you feeling now ? Are you smiling X -Aubrey

Just as bad and if I told you I was smiling I'd be lying to you x -Onika

Please let me help you X -Aubrey

No. It's okay and aren't you in gym class ?x -Onika

How do you know ? And yeah but coach said We have 10 minutes break X -Aubrey

Lets just say I have my ways. And oh right x -Onika

Wuu2 ?X -Aubrey

Reading x -Onika

What lesson you in ?X -Aubrey

I have a free x -Onika

Oh okay. So I'll call you later X -Aubrey

Okay x -Onika

Nicki was sat on her bed talking to Aubrey on the phone.

Aubrey: hey listen you can trust me okay. I can hear that you're crying and that pains me. Just talk to me tall me what's wrong.

Nicki: but you promise you won't change the way you act at school or towards me

Aubrey: yeah

Nicki: you promise.

Aubrey: I promise.

Nicki: okay so just listen and I don't want you to retaliate or ask questions , just listen

Aubrey: okay

Nicki: the reason I'm also upset when we talk or like now I'm crying is because I'm being bullied. I've been bullied since 19th grade but no one has ever done anything about it. I've tried talking to people but it gets me nowhere so I just let them bully me.

Aubrey why didn't you tell me. Who's bullying you I'm gonna bully them, make their life hell

Nicki: you promised you wouldn't retaliate

Aubrey: I know but they can't do that to you. No one deserves to be bullied. Meet me somewhere in the school tomorrow

Nicki: I can't do that

Aubrey: why not

Nicki: I just can't. Sorry

Aubrey: please let me help you

Nicki: I'm a guarded person. I just fin it really hard to trust people and it takes a while for me to fully let my guard down

Aubrey: you can trust me I promise

Nicki: you have to prove that to me

Aubrey: how can I do that

Nicki: I don't know but when the time is right. I will reveal myself to you

Aubrey: okay. Just don't leave me hanging

Nicki: I won't

Aubrey: goodnight beautiful

Nicki: goodnight Aubrey

With that she hung up and put her phone on the charger. She reached into her draw and took out her book. She read until she drifted off to sleep...
