the rides were tiresome but i got through

mountains and bridges and oceans

i was a little girl so i didn't understand much

but i loved the smell and i love the motion

my eyes - heavy - catching the shapes of clouds

everything i saw became a part of my spirit

for i loved all the things that came along

even the noisy sounds, i loved to hear it

years have passed and emotions flood in like waves

reminiscing now with my nostalgic eyes

i may have lost some innocence

but in the end i walked away far more wise

when the darkness tried to overwhelm

it was my remedy

as a young child it was me coping

unlike those unfortunates that turn to whiskey

the time it took was undescribable

millions of endless seconds had passed

hypnotizing, it was astounding

my mind was boggled, i wouldn't have even known if we crashed

for this is what i loved

and i believed it loved me as well

for traveling was my drug

traveling was my spell
