"Hood! Stop ogling at the girls and pay attention to what you're doing!" The boys' coach had had enough of Calum's behavior.

He just couldn't help it, though. They were wearing short shorts and they were running. How could he not stare at them.

The coaches blew their whistles, signaling the end of practice for both teams.

Calum looked around for Baylee, no, Hayley. He was hoping that being all sweaty and shirtless would catch her attention.

He was wrong.

As soon as practice ended, Luke headed toward Hayley, shirtless and sweaty too. And Hayley didn't even try hiding her staring.

"Damn! Did Luke finally get the guts to talk to her? He's been babbling on about her since last year." A curly haired, muscular guy told Calum as he slapped his shoulder.

"Ash."

"Yeah?"

"Shut up."

"Woah there, cranky pants. What's got your knickers in a twist?" Ash shook his head at his friend and walked away, going toward another one of his friends.

"Hey! Cal!"

"What," Calum harshly asked as he turned around, but his face softened when he saw his best friend.

"Oh. Hey Michael."

"What's up with you? You're yelling at everyone!"

Calum rolled his eyes. Why was everyone being so bothersome today?

"Because."

"That's not a good enough reason, Calum."

"Alright! I don't know why I'm in this mood, okay?"

Ever since his encounter with Hayley, Calum had been in a sour mood. It's probably just how annoying she is, he scoffed mentally.

Except she wasn't really annoying. Even though Calum hated to admit it, he thought she was hot, and not at all annoying.

"Oh! I know why you're like this today!" Michael nodded in understanding. "It's 'cause Hannah wasn't here today, right?"

Calum hadn't even noticed his girlfriend hadn't attended school that day, but nonetheless, he went along with it.

"Yeah! It's cause Hannah wasn't here, and you know how close we are. I just miss her."

"Oh well. Great practice, mate. Hope we keep it up like this!" Michael then made his way to the locker room.

Calum, however, stayed glued to his spot. In front of him was Luke and Hayley, still talking.

Calum scoffed, not caring whether or not they could hear him.

If the pair heard, they did not acknowledge him. Instead, they continued talking.

"Yeah! Oh man, that's my favorite song!"

"Really? That's like the song that got me into them! I also really like Oh Love."

"Me too. Do you like Nirvana?"

"Um, no."

"Oh."

"Yeah. Honestly, I think the only 'punk' or 'rock' band I like is Green Day, and that's mostly because of my brother."

"Huh. Your brother most be pretty cool, then."

"Yeah, I guess. Don't tell me you're not gonna want to hang out with me after finding out I don't like many bands?" Hayley jokingly asked.

"No! Of course not! I was just wondering what other bands you might like. You're still cool, don't worry!"

They both laughed and Calum had enough. He made his way to the locker room, fed up with Luke being all flirty.

He stormed into the locker room, the stench of sweat hitting him, but he wasn't phased. He was used to it.

What he wasn't used to, though, was this feeling he was getting. He felt it at the pit of his stomach. It was jealousy.

But what was he jealous of? It certainly couldn't be the fact that Hayley had preferred Luke over him.

No, of course not! Sure she was pretty, and popular, and smart, and great at sports, but he wasn't jealous. At least, that's what he kept telling himself.

Besides, he had a girlfriend, a hot girlfriend. She was popular and captain of the cheerleading squad.

He mentally scolded himself. Who needs Baylee, or whatever her name is? I'm Calum Hood, and I can get whatever girl I want!

No matter how many times he told himself that, it just wasn't enough.

As he was spinning the lock on his locker, Luke walked in and went to his own locker, which just so happened to be next to Calum's.

Calum noticed that Luke was wearing the biggest smile he had ever seen on him.

"What's got you so happy?"

Even though Calum wasn't Luke's biggest fan at the moment, they were still friends.

"Oh nothing. Just that a certain brown eyed girl agreed to go on a date with me." It seemed like Luke practically wanted to squeal.

"I'm happy for you, mate. So, who's the lucky girl?" Calum had an idea of who it could be, but he still had hope that it wasn't her.

"Hayley. Hayley agreed to go on a date with me." And Calum had guessed correctly.

"Oh. Well that's great, mate!"

"Yeah. You know me, I've had the biggest crush on her since last year. Honestly, if you hadn't bumped into her today, I probably would've never gotten enough courage to talk to her. Huh, so I guess I owe this to you. Thanks Cal!" Luke gave Calum a huge smile before going back to his lock.

The jealousy in the pit of Calum's stomach had only gotten stronger, and that's when Calum knew.

That was when Calum knew that he wasn't infatuated by the girl, he didn't have a crush on the girl. No, nothing of that sort. The only thing he wanted with that girl was to prove a point.

No one, and he meant no one, had ever turned him down, and he just wanted to prove that she was no exception.

He was going to find a way to get her to like him, or his name wasn't Calum Thomas Hood.

A/N: Woo! Second chapter whoop whoop! This was a little shorter than the first one but either way this is probably gonna be the over all lengths of all the chapters. I don't know if they should be short or long. Anywho, thanks for reading! Vote and comment what you thought
